From what I have seen here TA Performance is a place to get pretty much all the stuff I need to fix my issues with my TC cover and covering other things while that is off if needed.
Do they take returns if I end up not needing things? Can I call them and they help put the parts I need together to order, aka, get someone that can help source all the parts, they know what they are doing?

Better off using your old cover if possible or a good used factory original one.

I am hoping the orig one is usable. I sorta want replacement parts in hand in case it has to be replaced.

I assume Dorman units are sucky?

Yep. TA too. They use the same covers but machine them in house. Not worth $250 for a bare cover or $450+ for an assembled cover. You can try a dorman cover, but set the gears in before you install it. Get a shim kit from TA and aim for .002 clearance. If not, return it.

I see a lot of diff opinions on TA on the net when I do a google search. Good to bad. Looks like they can set up the whole cover with oil pump set up, packed, and mount the water pump also.

99% 9f what TA sells is top notch. It's just the covers. They have no control on quality because they dont cast them. I wouldn't hesitate to buy every single item they make, just not the Chinese covers.

Edit: I know they don't directly cast anything, but stuff like the heads and intakes are held to an absolute standard.

You had a bad experience with a 350 cover they sold you. The 455 cover is 100% theirs, and I have never heard of a problem with those.

Well I just spent some cash with TA for TC cover with oil pump installed, singe timing chain and gear setup, got a new tstat housing (mine was a little pitted last time I saw it), gasket set, bolt kit, WP, timing indicator and Distrib hold down. I asked them about the cover, where it was made. They told me is is not made in China, that it is made stateside, then they get it and machine it, FWIW.
So in the next few weeks hope to have it all fixed and not more leaks.

Hope you have better luck than I did. I refused to pay $450 for the full setup, and just got the cover. My cover is machined wrong, but since yours is all assembled, id there were any errors they should be corrected. Good luck.

I have read good and bad things about these covers. At this point I hope I get a good one. I guess if they got it wrong my shop will know pretty quickly?
