I really like the clutch disc clock! Need to do one with burned up blue rivets for memories' sake! I did a few clocks from some decommissioned old cast iron gage packs from the 1920's era power plant. Simple stuff to do and gave them away as "gag gifts" for an X-mas party. I made sure the big shots got some too. Made a ton of brownie points. The other scroungers took th big brass gages for scrap. Mere pennies on the dollar for the brass/bronze cases. WAFS.

There was a Model T guy across the hall that was making park benches with leaf springs and crank shafts too. That may put a little fun back into the sport. Nice work there Lucas war hero! ws

Here's a jewelry box I'm working on for the girlfriend's birthday in a few weeks. It's not going to be this "pretty" when I'm done with it. I will have barbed wire and a few other things welded to it to make it look tough when done, but the inside is going to be red leather....like a woman's heart. Tough on the outside, pretty on the inside. The wall of it is a timing chain out of 3.6 V6, and the top and bottom is 18 gauge I used a Beverly to cut out.

I think it's awesome stuff! You should be very proud of how you use your creativity. For me it's woodworking in my "spare time"... same stuff, different materials.

Some very talented and creative artists here. Can anyone make a metal Dachshund?

You want him made out of car parts or smooth metal? I can try to whip something up......

That would be cool. Smooth metal would probably work best. I'll be glad to pay for it and shipping, Lucas. I can even post a pic of our crazy Dachshund/Shi-Tzu mix.

I've got a Shih-Tzu myself :)....I can't promise anything time-wise, Jerry. That table took me over 2 years to find the few hours to put it together and this jewelry box thing has been in the back of my mind for 4 years, but I'll try to see what I can come up with. It usually just strikes me while looking at something, the light bulb goes off (on?), and away I go.

I'm in no rush, Lucas. I just thought it would be cool to have 'wiener dog art'. This is Buddy, he'll be 6 in June. Last pic was when he was 2...

A little different creation from me barrell.PNG Started with a old red wine barrel for $60 and a friends idea of what they wanted for their bar
    Make a wine cabinet display, so I cut a door added a shelf,led lights,finished it off IMG_4770.JPG

Then I cut a wine bottle and glass of 1/8 in aluminum sheet
I get the letters from old removed commercial signs and polish them up IMG_4765.JPG IMG_4767.JPG IMG_4768.JPG IMG_4769.JPG

Finished up the female's jewelry box....ended up lining the inside with leftover felt from when we redid my pool table, stuck on some barbed wire, bicycle chain, and a spider gear out of a Dana 44 for a handle/crown.

This stuff is awesome. There was a guy at a local craft fair last summer that made clocks kind of like your connecting rod one. I wanted it so bad but the wife said "No Way. Not in my house!" I thought it was our house, but I guess I was wrong.

Yeah, most guys won't know what that stuff is :) When I was the service manager at Kurt's Polaris, all the factory sleds were coming out geared way too high, and the secondary springs were too soft, so I ended up with about 300 "worthless" HYVO gears and springs. That's what started me into all this kind of stuff was I was just fooling around and I ended up making a series of about 10 little gear guys, all completely made from brand new snowmobile parts. There's close to $300 retail worth of parts in each of them that would've just been chucked in the recycle bin.
