So here's my dealer experience- whats your opinion?

Last summer I bought a 2018 Charger R/T 5.7 (used) and I found while shopping around that most of the local (Long Island) dealers have fees that are usually not disclosed on their websites. I think it was True Car that would disclose the fees and the out the door price on each car if you gave them all your info, which was annoying because then the dealers start calling you and they don't stop. So when I would see a car I was interested in I would call the dealer and ask for their fees and they were usually upfront about it. Typical was about $1000 on a used car. One dealer was like $1700. So because of that, they would advertise lower prices but in the end, they all were close to being the same.

But I wasn't surprised you went to Maryland for that car. They are not exactly easy to find around here, and seem to be more expensive locally too. It took me months to find just a 5.7 for the right deal. And nobody wanted to budge much on asking price. The Hemi cars seem to sell quickly and they feel they don't have to negotiate.

What are these "fees" that cost $1000-$1700?

    This is what I paid:

    Transportation and Dealer Prep $695
    Filing Fee $299.50
    Dealer Documentation Fee $75
(the first two above are then also taxed at the state sales tax rate 8.675%)

And then add the DMV stuff like inspection, plates, title which was about another $300.

I walked away from several deals trying to get them to come down on these but none would. I think it's just so they can advertise a lower price on the car. This is why I drove my last daily driver for 13 years. I can't stand being subjected to what goes on at dealers! It's really annoying.

Think Texas young man. A huge number of performance Mopar are shipped to and sold in Texas. I know it’s the number one Hellcat state. They appear to be more willing to deal there. Just avoid the big cities.

after writing a letter of having no owners manual ,got this fast reply just now ....

"Thank you for contacting Dodge Customer Care.
I am sorry to hear you had trouble getting an owner's manual from the dealership! It would be my pleasure to help as I understand how useful these manuals are!
I have sent out a free hard copy of the vehicle's owners manual in the mail, it will arrive in 15-20 business days at the address"

There you go. Now pass on your poor dealer experience to everyone you talk to.

My car did not come with an owners manual either. They are available online to view. I think that may be the standard now, at least for FCA.

In 1995,i was working at an Acura dealership
Their CSI(customer service index) was horrible at the time and Lexus was killing Acura.
So Acura created a new program called TLC(Total Luxury Care)
We called it KTA(kiss their ass):)

Regarding the surveys, just thinking that if they're using the something similar to 'net promoter score' or NPS, that is widely used in industry, it makes sense the dealer was requesting OP to complete a new survey...

In NPS score system 0-6 are considered detractors, 7-8 are neutral and 9-10 are promoters. Percentage of promoters minus percentage of detractors = NPS score. The 'beauty' of this is that getting any other score than 9 or 10 will eventually decrease the total NPS score.

The sales manager was relentless. As of yesterday he was still emailing me about the survey. I finally had to take the gloves off. I told him that unless his dealership cut me a check for the difference in pricing, that the original survey will stand. FU

As I said, the dealership is probably close to losing some kind of incentives or kickbacks because of low survey scores, probably because of s****y service like you got, and now he's making it worse......A 10 is a 10, a 9 is a 0. I've lived this kind of numbered life in dealerships of all kinds for nearly 24 years. I'd agree to retake the survey, drop them all down to what you really feel now after seeing their true colors even more, and see how he likes that.

When you take that Plum Lazy Challenger in to your local dealer for it's first servicing, check the service managers office and see if your picture is on the wall. They may have a bounty out for your head!
