I think this is a terrorist act. I think these are Al Quaeda, one driving the van and one shooting.........women and kids......nothing else makes sense.:af:
people are too conspiacy-minded. this is just some guy (not guys). he does not have military experience, he does not carry an m16...just a fairly intelligent nut with a hunting rifle. besides, if al queda had a plan to kill women and children they could just as easily walk into a school with dynamite strapped to their chests.

Im with you, this aint no terrorist...This is some 35-50 yr. old "angry white guy"/nut.... who has mommy issues... probably a loner with a troubled or broken marriage... bought himself a hunting rifle and now he feels important and in control. If it isn't Al Quaeda, the guy's done a fabulous job at terrorizing the whole DC/Balt/VA area, as well as the rest of the country. It would make Al Quaeda sense that they would do something like this. Terrorists work at the mind-game. It would surprise me it it wasn't Al Quaeda.
The reason I brought this up is how easy this type of thing would be for Al Quaeda. I think there could be multiple participants. Killing women and children randomly. I heard a middle eastern man has been stopped in a similar vehicle with a book on shooting rifles....???? Of course they had to let him go....

The killer has left at least one "cryptic" messege for the police. Unlike the highway killings in Florida a few years ago, and a few other random serial sprees from time to time, this one is reminiscent of Son of Sam. Very interesting. I wonder if it might be a bit of a copycat. I hope they solve it soon.
We now have witnesses who says they have seen the shooter. The word is there are two middle eastern, or hispanic males. You put 2 and 2 together. I'll bet they are not hispanic.

sniper theory This guy may not be military, but he definitley has some sort of formal rifle training, or he spent a lot of time at a range, at least if what the media says is true. I think he is definitley a nut job, but not a al-queta member, but terrorist in every sence of the word. If he really did shoot 500 yards, that is not a terrible easy feat, especally acuritley. I think he is definitley someone angry at a something that is obivous. and the sad thing is they will probibly never catch him. as for the .223 there are about 700 diffrent firearms that fire that bullet, including pistols. In NRA national matches they have fired .223's over 1000 yards, but that is with a serously modifed rifle. Maybe they sould rustle up a Marine Counter sniper team and let the professionals deal with him. eddie
