I have been looking around online but there doesn't seem to be much info on their docs.....ie, what cars/years/models they might have docs on, cost of docs, how to request them, etc. I would assume the info is on their site but I will be darned if I can find it. Any input would be great!
https://sloanlongway.org/automotive-research/ Buick VIN Documentation 1970, 1972-1976 $75 Regular processing (completed within 2-4 weeks) $90 Express processing (completed within 5 business days) For information about a specific vehicle, we maintain Buick factory production records for 1970 and 1972 through 1976. This information comes from microfilm records donated by Buick Motor Division. For a complete list of VINs available, click here. VIN Documentation does not include owner history or window sticker reproductions. VIN reports feature the same information as found on Buick Motor Division's invoice forms. All reports list options, invoice amount, invoice date, color, trim, key codes, order number, and dealer number. A copy of the wholesale car order form is also included. Using the wholesale car order form, you are able to “decode” the options and accessories which came original to the vehicle as it was produced by the factory. So, for example, if you had a FLINT built 1970 GS with VIN number 185456, Sloan would have your information. However, if your 1970 Flint built GS (0H) had 194001 as the last 6 of the VIN, they would not have that info.
Thanks…………….dunno how I was missing it, the info was practically in front of my face! Naturally the vehicle I was looking for has a VIN out of the ranges so it's all moot.
You don't mention what vehicle you are looking for information on. VIN #'s higher then 0H193507 are research able, you just need to go elsewhere.
There are 2 rolls of Microfiche for the Flint built cars. Sloan has one, Wayne Roberts has the other. Not sure if it applies to Rivieras. http://v8buick.com/index.php?threads/documenting-my-car.352364/
...yep, 3 possibilities; docs came with car, find a necessary doc somewhere on body, or try to "reverse engineer" from what you have...
Tank has been drop and replaced, Did not find any Docs there. Have found the trim doc but the main one has not been found. Read that it may be in the driver side pillar on a '71.
On our 71 we found one in drivers A pillar, one above the radio and one under carpet in passenger floorboard.
Haven't pulled the radio, so maybe...The two doc we found was one on the back seat and the other on the driver side rear panel.
