I have my september 69 built 70 GS 455 and I have found 2 build sheets so far. My question is, what does the Sloan Museum provide that I do not already have? I know my car is a GS 455, I know all its options, I know where it was built and where it was sold, etc. etc. I am not sure exactly how much it costs but is it worth the money just to get information I already have? I just want to know if it worth it or should I use the money to fill up the gas tank before gas is $5 a gallon, thanks.

So you have two build sheets. Are they both for your car or??? I think this is a topic for the papertrail forum instead of the bench.

Yes, I have 2 build sheets and both sheets are for my car, pretty easy to compare #'s. I put it in the Bench section because I knew more people would see my post and reply to it, there are very few visitors to this section compared to bench. There were 3 viewing this section compared to 102 viewing the Bench.

The Sloan peperwork should also tell you what dealership the car was sold through. The dates it was sent to the dealer. And all of the options/features which may not be listed on the buildsheets. Only you can decide if that is worth $75 or not. If you already have all the info then it may not be, but it could become important in the future if parts get changed or memory fades.

I know the dealership that the car was sold through and that it was customer ordered. All the options do seem to be on the buildsheet. I was hoping they had copies of the original sales/customer order forms and maybe the window sticker or any other paperwork that are usually missing from the original sale of the car. If I knew they had copies of these, it would be a no-brainer. I am supposed to be getting some more paperwork and parts from the previous owner but do not know what all he has because we have not been able to get together. I guess I will wait to see what he has.

You may find out your car was first sent to another dealer or a zone office. For some cars there are mulitple entries. You would also get the order number, date of invoice and price of invoice. The Sloan document will also confirm what your other paperwork tells you. It will show if the car was a special order car.

Sloan does not have window sticker or invoices for 1970.

If you need help decoding your build sheets. Duane Heckman provides that service.

If you need to get a reproduction window sticker. Mike Trommetter is the best around.

Mark, thank you for your helpful reply. It really does not look like it is worth spending the money for those few things. I am thinking about selling the car and wanted to get all the info I could, thanks again,

    Chad.
