I’m currently tired and need to stay awake. Had a our first child Sunday and not sure I’ve slept since. It’s been fun lol

All the things everyone says is true so far.

CONGRATS!!! Look at it this way; you are practicing for the BIG GAME LOL... By the time you're 50 you'll be able to take a well deserved nap. Ive been retired for 13 years now and STILL wake up on auto at 0300hrs. Today I did 0530 after a 2000 mile road trip with a car hauler. You are allowed to remove "exhaustion" from the dictionary for the next 15 or so years. Good luck to you and mom and child! Hope everyone is happy and healthy! ws

    Thanks!

On one hand I felt like I never had a break between work, working on the house etc. On the other hand I’ve been catching up on all the car shows I’ve been skipping.....just not sure how much I’m actually comprehending. :)

I feel your pain. We had twins 16 years ago and with work and everything else I still don't sleep enough. There were days when I didn't get to sleep at all but I'd do again for them. My advice, sleep when ever you can. Take naps when they nap. Sleep deprivation can have long lasting effects on you. Congrats on your first child.

I find i relax just holding the baby. Have mom pump some milk in a bottle for u and have a "break"for 20mins.. they sleep alot right now.
But your right the first month is go go go.
Its like starting a new job, you have to get usted to the husttle

I had to get rude with mine after several months of having my days turned into nights and visa-versa. I took him out visiting one day. Every time he fell asleep in the car, we would pull up at a new friends house and wake him up to be with the new crowd. He slept well that night and from that point on there were no more problems.

Have your wife sleep with the baby in another room. Youl sleep like a baby.

That’s the issue, she’s so warm laying on my chest I start falling asleep. My biggest fear is her rolling off or somehow being suffocated.

We’ve basically just been doing 2-3 hour shifts and either the other gets stuff done or naps. Feel so bad for my wife, 9 hours of labor with no drugs, whole body is sore, feet are swollen and now she’s running on little sleep. She’s a badass though.

Here’s all 7lbs of her. We’re battling a bit of jaundice right now but its slowly getting better. Another doctors visit Monday for another test.

Tonight has been better. The wife is kicking ass and took first shift. Expected to sleep like 2 hours but I got a solid 4 hours. Trying to repay her back, she’s been asleep for 3 (wife not baby).

At least I’ve caught up on my motor trend on demand!

Congrats on your new addition! My little guy turns 1 today, so I feel your pain on the lack of sleep thing. It's been a hectic/stressful/grueling/magical/rewarding/wonderful/crazy year! (I think that about covers it).

My advice, buckle up and enjoy every minute of the ride cause that first year flies by! When she's up all night screaming and you and momma are basically zombies, look at each other and giggle about the little things. It'll make even the trying times more enjoyable. And watching them learn so much so quickly is really awesome to behold.
