Can someone tell me if the OEM front spolier on the 71 GS/GSX was painted or just black plastic or other material?

Black ABS plastic with a slight graining on the top surface.

Next question. Does anyone have a diagram or underside photos of the spoiler on the car? I just bought the spoiler and baffle along with the hardware. However, instructions were not included and I want to make sure the baffle in particular gets installed properly.:idea2:

Who did you buy the spoiler from? They should have included the instruction sheets.

PS. The spoiler needs not only the mounting holes drilled into it but also an access hole to allow clearance for the core support. Of course that is if you intend to install it in the correct location.

I bought the items from the Parts Place. When I didn't see instructions I called and they said the didn't have any. It is what it is!

Did the brace come with the spoiler?

Have the spoiler, baffle, brace and all necessary hardware. I can see how the spoiler goes on but I'm not sure about the baffle and brace. In the link I posted prior it shows what I need to do. Just wish I could print it an have it by me during install. :af:

That link shows the 71-72 style Spoiler/Baffle mounting.

The 70 front Spoilers & Baffles mount and look different.

As it has finally gotten cooler here in Fl and today is a rainy day I thought I would install my spoiler and baffle. I was hoping maybe someone had an underside or even a front photo of one on their car for reference as the although the diagram I downloaded is helpful it leaves a little to be desired. Not as easy I as thought and a picture of an actual install would make things alot easier. Not looking to remove anything or drill holes unnecessarily. Thanks in advance

Funny I have the exact same question Eagleguy had and the link to the PDF is dead. Can anyone help me out?

Unless PP changed theirs, just use page 11-4.5 in '71 Assy Manual. Mine needed slight baffle mod (baffle only fits one way). Only part I couldn't get to work was center brace...too long. Haven't needed it in 10 years...

As for PDFs, get free Acrobat Reader DC...no PC should be without it...

I've got the same problem purchased a chin spoiler from PP w/no instructions. Do you have a PDF or link the install diagram or instructions? Thanks Dave
