IMG_9812.JPG IMG_9820.PNG Hi I have a Buick Skylark 1966 with 455 engine and Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust system. Stock manifoilds and TA performance down pipes. The mufflers are way to load, and i cant hear my iphone chime while driving. Wife and kids are getting headache after an half hour drive LOL. The mufflers are 40 series delta flow. Can anyone recommend silent mufllers that will bolt on without to many mods ? Thanks Best Eivind

Look into Walker Super Dyno Max mufflers. They will still have tone but the quietest of the performance mufflers. They have a wrap of insulation in them which Flowmasters do not. The resonance will be much less against the floor boards. They also out perform Flowmasters

Funny, I gotta go against the grain here (but bear with me, I think I have an explanation). I put magnaflows on my green car, and was super impressed how quiet at cruise they were, but how much they barked at wot. BUT... I now have the summits version of flowmaster super 44's. Yeah, it's a little on the rowdy side, but doesn't drone much at all and is far from unbearable in the car (imho). Now here's the disclaimer. When this car was my DD in high school, it had 40 series flowmasters. They droned like a mofo, it was brutal! But I dropped all the coin I had on them, was a young punk, and now have many fond memories of that time period. So perhaps my changing back to a flowmaster type muffle is nostalgia more than anything, but it is what it is. And fwiw I'll probably put my like new magnaflow take offs on the white car. But I actually love the way flowmasters sound on a Buick, especially if you can tune out the infamous drone.

As referenced earlier, Walker #17749 Super Turbo Offset/Offset mufflers are my favorites for relatively high flow with a reasonably quiet "powerful muscle-car" sound. Even better if your exhaust system is equipped with a H-pipe or X-pipe. Your family will thank you.

I have the 3" inlet 2.5" outlet version of this muffler. I like them but you must keep in mind that they will get louder every year, as they fiberglass burns out/away. Always does.

Flowmaster doesn't flow compared to Dynomax and they are louder. Dynomax Super turbos are going on my car today. Can't wait.
