How come? It's ashame that it's like that and it certainly doesn't look good just sitting there. Is that a GS or a Skylark?
I have to kick a 68 F85 oldsmobile out of my garage first.. My buddy doesn't seem to understand that he has to work on it in order to get done...But I am not going to ruin a friendship because of it.. It is out of the garage by spring then mine is going on the rotisserie.. It is a 1971 Stage1.. It just kills me to see it outside!!! But a little more time won't hurt it.. It was outside after being painted for a number of years..It is atleast covered now... The body work was terrible to say the least..!!! Can you say overspray!!!! Thanks for your input!! Randy.
Well I figured I'd bring this thread back to life it's been a few years, and I'd like to see some more Gold cars.I forgot about this thread.I read it before I got my car painted and never posted pics here.Same car, same color, one in the sun and one in the shade.Cortez Gold, looks like two different colors sometimes.
Forgot about this thread... even my prior photo disappeared... Had my doubts for quite a while before the re-paint: Cortez gold (which I really like) or the original color Honey gold. Decided to stick as close to original:
My 72 350 sport coupe was originally Cortez gold but got a Macco respray in the 80's that was as close to right. Dull and faded now but the inside of the trunklid is as it left Flint.
Not mine, but couldn't resist to show this uncommon shade of gold on a Buick. In the (German) April issue of Chrom&Flammen (Chrome & Flames); a 72 GS in BMW paint (Ambra/Amber Metallic; BMW nr 476): Front cover: Inside:
71 Cortez Gold GSX restored by "Then and Now" in 2000-02? Heres the story about it. http://www.buickstreet.com/71buickstreet.html Taking her to the GSX reunion this August, rooms booked:TU: ......
My first Buick, a '71 circa '83 or '84. Wife's grandmother bought it new. Sold it to Jane in '80 to use for university. I bought it from her in '82. Not sure what gold is on it. I believe the car was Sandpiper Beige as new, possibly a vinyl roof. Grandmother didn't like the colour so it was painted top & bottom. I picked it up & had the bottom repainted. 22K miles on it when I sold it.
My pride and joy, '72 Riviera ready to hit the road this summer :Brow: This is the first pic i took of the car after i got it. Since then, i have got a new and better set of rally whells and center cap's. Also got a hold on a "new" dash from a '73 riviera, with the am/fm radio w/8 track and speed alert, that the plastic was good, since mine was all broken up after many years in the hot California sun. Have also installed the rear window defogger:Brow: Last winter, the car got a new set of springs and KYB Gas-a-Just Shocks front and back. A pic of the engine before i startet to take it apart in november last year to install new timing chain and sprockets, hoses etc. and rebuilding the carb and painting the engine. New timing chain and sprockets installed. I did fit in the engineroom :Brow: . Here i'm getting ready to install the intake. Painting done and new timing chain, oilpump and timing chain cover are innstalled. The latest pic i took. The engine started right up and and everything is working great.
Oh my back hurts today Glenn, Luckilly for you, You look to be a big guyray: , Hoisting that hunk-O-iron intake that far over the fenders is not an easy task. Congrats on the positive results. I can only imagine what you guys on the other side of the world have to go through to find parts, They're getting hard to find here in the states.
