Should this clip do something?

    Hey everybody,
I was working on the rear windows in my '72 Riviera today as they were not rolling up or down. When removing parts of the trim, I noticed a clip that looks like it should be screwed into something. There was no hole and no screws on either side. Missed at the factory? I also had to re-drill a hole for the black seal as it sat too high up.

After almost completely swapping out my interior for a Custom Sport version, I noticed a lot of discrepancies when it came to interior mounting hardware. After restoring an old Benz, it was almost shocking how badly some of these cars are put together. ya gotta love them for their look, not build quality. ;)

I don't know what that clip was for but I can tell you that it is not uncommon for cars to clips or wires/connections for options the car doesn't have. It's cheaper to do it that way than to custom make everything for each car if that makes sense.
