To click (Buy-It-Now) or not to click ...

What a dilemma. Wish it were closer to inspect in person.

Only thing that scares me is of the 551 people that have looked at this e-bay ad (presumably SOME of them are Buick people), nobody has had the guts to hit the button on it.

I hafta admit, I don't have the kones to pay the $500 to find out.

"Buy it now" option is over-$12k was minimum- High bidder has 1 feed back rating...No return calls- No extra info-SCAM!!! Now everybody go back to your normal lives.

It's my car. I love the comments, keep them up. Everthing I said in the ad is 100% correct. You may have seen this car at Norwalk a few years ago. I have 2 GS's, 1 70 st1 and 1 69 400. Nothing fishy here. I made a mistake with a low buy it now, what can I say, I've been outta touch.

Doesn't matter, once the reserve was met, buy it now went out the door. Thankyou ebay! The buy it now was a complete last minute listing mistake, man I'm a bone head.

Dan: I bought the 70 rear bumper for this car from you 5 years ago.

Gary: Bought a rear defrost switch for my 69 a few years ago from you.

    Been at both your houses.

This car has never been on ebay before. The comment about my neighbor having an "out of state" plate is very funny!!! LOL

Yes, I know a little about Buicks. Never checked the dist or carb numbers on this car because that's not what this car represented to me. I mean all orginal and that. Get caught up in that and next thing you know the kids can't eat ice cream in the car at the local show. Then who'd go with me?

We Buick guys are all the same, you all could have done "buy it now", instead we all sit on the side lines and watch. I'm investigating raising the reserve now.

Please come see this car. For Dan and Gary, come see it after work, call my cell 330-705-5973.

Well I guess Marlon has cleared that mystery up. Now the mystery is why someone would submit a bid that is higher than the BIN price? Seems like it is Marlon's turn to worry about fraud.

Why did you wait so long before responding? I actually bid on the car to show I was serious-still no communication-email or phone? So if I would have hit the "buy it now" would you have stuck to the price? Or would have been"Auction ended due to mistakes in ad"

It's a mystery to me, but for once someone is looking out for me. I read the rules and it seems either the first bid or the reserve being met takes away the buy it now. What can I say, I got lucky for a change. Once I saw the number of hits and people watching I knew my price was wrong. Hopefully the bidding continues up to market correct my stupidity!

I mean what I said to the members close to Macedonia, come see the car. I work a ton of hours and will be in WV again on Wednesday (same as today that's why I did not respond to questions).

    Good Luck!

I really don't want to answer that question. Truth is, I don't know. I would have puked either way.

    Just being honest.

it had several bids on it before the BIN ever went away...so now it is a bidders war? The auction should be scrapped and re-list it with a correct reserve and/or BIN. How much for a V8Buick member to buy it?

So am I correct that if myself or Mike had BIN earlier today like we were wanting to do, the 12K price would have been no good?

The out of state plate isn't meant to be funny!! I was trying everything I could to figure out if you were a scammer or not. Several of us on here wanted to buy your car at your advertised price (which now sounds like you may not have honored anyway) and were trying to figure out if this car was legit. Geez, if you are going to run these cars on ebay, answer the e-mails or give a phone number.

As is, I'm bummed a deal slipped away...but at least its entertaining.

You can see the auction was not revised by the seller. If I'm not mistaken, the "Buy it Now" is an option for the buyer and seller to end the auction for a set price - if the buyer hits the button, but since more than one person is apparently interested in the car now and no one hit the BIN button, Marlon has a bid war to get excited about.

    Very cool car, Marlon! :TU:

Marlon, I remember when you bought those 455 headers off of me awhile back. I had the black & gold 71 gsx clone then, Good guy people ! Gary / Moz

Gary: I still have the headers, there on the 69. The black sport wheel I bought from you for the 69 is still on the shelf. I love these cars and I don't want to sell but I really don't drive them. They sit under covers. I bought my childhood dream cars and they remain dreams if I don't drive them, don't they?

I have 4 kids, 2 boys at 16 and 14. The 14 year old wants to put racing stripes on the 70! They just don't see the same car a 40 year old sees.

The 16 year old bought an old (I mean old as in 95) Lexus fixer upper and soon I'll have 7 cars in the garage and driveway. It will be musical cars to get to work in the morning. I have a choice, spend a lot of money for bigger driveway/garages or sell one of the cars. This is reality!

For those following, got numbers this moring and numbers do not lie:

    carb: 7040244 (70 350) That cuts!
dist: 112541 (71 or later) Add some salt!

    Good news (sorta), trans: 70B293/70-BB-177

Can't match it to the vin: 446370H196754

So what do I have? Yes, it's most likely a Stage car but certainly not number matching. What's it worth? We will see this weekend when the auction ends.

For persons questioning my response time: I listed Sunday at 10:30pm and responded to all within 24 hours. I have a life and job and cannot sit in front of this screen all day. You all have my cell now!

Good luck with the sale and thank you for responding. I just have to take a guess on this (just for fun) I think you will most likely get 18k for the car. I base this on "paintworks" had a 70 stage 1 non #s here for I think 18k some time back so I would guess this one will go for close to the same price.

You won't find the VIN on the riveted tag. It will be stamped on the trans housing above the pan rail.
