Can't be welded as it's spring steel. Need a new spring. They are available separately.

    Zig-zag springs.
You'll need to know the gauge of the wire. Usually 9 ga or 11 ga.
    Avail on eBay, Amazon, etc.

Maybe you could just splice a piece next to the broken one using those long crimp-on things.

You could talk to my "seat guy". He sells parts for repairs as well as recovering factory seats. He's currently recovering a 2nd set of seats for me...good guy. His name is Ben.

I would say that's a decent price. Plus saves you a bit of time having a pro do it.

You can "patch" it. You can get a spring section, cut it to match, and use those crimp splice clips to splice the repair onto it.

ok the reupholster fella fixed it up like brand new ...in the meantime after sand blasting the rusty bottom springs
the wire seemed thin and frail in some parts .....so I ordered just one seat bottom spring from Ebay

was very nice product and made USA ..and had some kind of rubberized insert in between the clamps ....very nice product and
    just $80

Not to make you worry...just sharing my experience. I didn't have luck with aftermarket springs on my first set of buckets. I bought the opgi springs and foam and had my seat guy do them up. when I sat on them they were so stiff and nothing like stock. It raised me up and forward in the seat...my head was hitting the headliner and my stomach was right up against the steering wheel. I ended up having my original springs repaired and went with the ACI buns recommended by my seat guy (http://www.americancushionind.net/), they are as close to stock (nice and squishy) as you can get.

Hopefully yours will treat you well.

I have the ACI buns as well ......I measured the difference of the old springs and then the new ones installed
back/front/sides /and center and there was almost 1/2 inch difference in more height for new springs

1st bucket seat done ....bottom was easy but the back was a pain in the but
looks ok for a first timer

note the horizontal straps on the back section ....they say Legendary the best quality but you can see
the indentation from it on the sides ,but a little steam later it helped a little but not much
but cleared up the 2 on the seat bottom edge
