    Tim,
Go to post # 2 of this thread. Chris linked to a previous discussion of what I did. A few pics there of mine & more of an original set up.

I didn't see where you said what the final length on those belts were? It looks clean that's for sure. My only problem with the stock style shoulder belts is that it's like being in a straight jacket once you're buckled up. Thanks for the info.

Left the belts at 48". In the end I shortened the lower lap belt 2-3" to keep everything fairly snug when the shoulder belt was folded at at about halfway.

I ordered retractable seatbelts from Autoloc. The problem was locating the retractor in a decent spot. Mine are bolted to the floor with reinforcements to the vertical part of the floorboard below the rear seat. The other two mount points bolt on at the factory locations as does the buckle.

I was going to use roof mounted Gen4 Camaro seatbelts but they were better suited to be used in a car where you could fabricate a "roof" mount. S10 blazer belts are an option as well.

Whatever you do, make sure you reinforce the mounting points unless you use the factory mounts. The last thing you want is the belt to rip loose.

As for the shoulder belts themselves, even bolted to the factory location they rub annoyingly against my neck just as the factory non-retractable belt. I'm fabricating some hoops to attach to the headrest so they come across at a more comfortable angle.

Have any pix of your set-up? Thanks

I'm off work today so I should be able to take a few pictures. I played around with a couple of different mocked-up versions of the seatbelt hoop at the headrest. I used 1/8" aluminum stock and bolted a nice aluminum drawer pull handle to it. I'll take pictures of the mockup, and I'll take pics again of the finished ones.

The only issue I have is getting it to bolt securely to the headrest. I think I may bolt it directly to the headrest shaft. That may prevent the headrest from going down completely but if it means my neck isn't getting chafed by the seatbelt then so be it.

Here's a shot of the loop on the headrest and of how the shoulder loop bolts on up top.
The bracket actually holds pretty firm attached to the bottom of the headrest but I'm still going to modify it to bolt to the headrest shaft.

It's pretty damn comfortable, by the way.

Thanks for the pix, can you take some of your whole set-up? I'm curious how you mounted that system. You used the Auto loc system? How are they price wise? Thanks
