At a garage sale on my street on Saturday, I picked up this 80's Sears Off Road Buggy - kinda looks like a old bronco or something.

I found a scan someone made from the Sears Catalog back then...

It looked very similar to a RC Jeep I had as a kid that was from Radio Shack

Sure enough, they are so similar they have to be the same manufacture, chassis' are almost identical, and transmitters are identical too.
Both are proportional, meaning the throttle is variable, and the steering can be turned just a bit or all the way.

My Jeep is at home in the original box, The last time I played with it was pre 1990, I had it outside (which was rare as my parents didn't let me take it outside very often)
I ran it into the sidewalk and broke the steering. A few years ago, I found one on eBay, listed as not working, and I bought it and transplanted the steering into mine and it was like new again.

I kept the eBay jeep on a shelf in the garage.. cause you never know right?

Well the one I got at a garage sale worked.. but not well.. really jumpy. Then I realized there was no antenna on it!
I got the eBay Jeep from the garage, and swapped the antenna to the Sears Unit and WOW this brings back memories!

Now I know how my Dad felt supplying the 'C' batteries LOL

Anyway, the Sears truck was well used. So I found a use for some extra spray paints I had in the garage...
(Disregard the dirty kid in the back ground, he just had his first Oreo and loved it LOL)

Good garage sale find! Looks way better with the new paint job too.

My 5 year old girl doesn't like it LOL

The maiden drive.. I accidentally drove it into her when I turned on the transmitter, and cut/bruised her knee! In addition to the toggle to go forward and reverse, it has a slide next to it so you can 'set' a speed, kinda like cruise control - and I did not realize it was up all the way

She said she doesn't want it in the house any more LOL

But my 1 year old, loves it. Had it out in the yard, and he loved to be chased with it, and then loved to chase it

Makes me feel 8 years old again. Its been some time since I played with an RC vehicle
