    Hello,
4 speed conversion is finally gonna happen.

    But first:
    Any forum members with a 1965 300 4 speed?
I'd like some assistance, measurements for my shifter cutout.
I have purchased the correct tunnel hump hole.
I now want to be careful before I make the cut into the floor.
A template or good measurements would be greatly appreciated.
There may be a slight difference in the hole placement if GS 401 motor 4 speed car?

    Thanks,
    Robert

Robert: what I do/have done in similar situations is "test" fit or "mock" up your tranny fitment in the car as it is going to be. Then figure out (as close as you can) where the shifter will project through the tunnel and mark it some how, marker, scratch an X in the metal whatever. From there (after you remove the tranny) you can drill a small 1/8" or so hole from bottom up. Now you should have your location, fit your tunnel hump hole close to center and mark it and cut.

The original openings were crudely cut. You can do a nicer job.

    Thanks to all.
I will mock up with trans in placed and mark center of shifter from underneath car.
I want to make the cut right, the first time, no shortcuts .

Robert, I have a good assortment of photos for the 65 floor hole. If you haven't started your project let me know.

    Pat,
Thanks, the project was finished early summer (June).
I was able to fit and cut it perfectly. I've been driving around with a big smile on my face.
I could use some help locating a 4 barrel (cast iron) intake manifold and AFB carb. for my 300.
Let me know if you come across one,
    Regards,
    Robert
