Greg, First I want to thank your Son for his service to this country and your family's support for him doing what he wants to do. I certainly hope he can stay clear of harm's way while he is there. Those of us who do not have children or family serving there probably cannot honestly feel the tension that grips your nerves. I had an Uncle that was an Engineer in WWII. He was very proud of the accompishments of the Engineers during that war. I'm sure, though he is not living now, that he would be exceptionally proud of your Son carrying the torch of the Army Engineer today. Mike
Retired US Navy here; Parents were also ex-military. "Normal" people don't even begin to know the stress that a military family goes through, ESPECIALLY the parents of a deployed member in harm's way...without contact, or when contact is broken. (shed a few also) Glad to hear he's OK.
thank you all very much God Bless all of you as well for this Christmas time Greg Hildebrand Proud parent of an Army Engineer
Merry Christmas to you too, Greg. I think all of us with military family, deployed or not, are holding our breath in hope of safe return. Devon
I just read this for the first time. I'm glad you heard from Brian. Combat Engineers, First in. Last out. My Dad , Combat Engineer in Korea 1952;
My prayers for him and all our servicemen. Forty three years ago I spent Christmas in Viet Nam with the 43rd Engineer Battalion. Tell him ESSAYONS from a fellow engineer. Fred
