Day go's well, on the way home we stop at buick pick up some ordered parts . Then i drive to my buddies soda blasting shop to check on parts. After i pull out i stop at the stop sign behind a black gmc suv, Then i see backup lites. Aw JEEZ! At least you can buy parts for your Park w/o searching for months or YEARS for the part. Thank god it wasn't your 68!!!

    SUV...... V.S, PARK AVE...........

:Dou: Good morning guys ! After a good nights sleep , and some time to think, your 100% correct! IT just as well could have been the 68 !! The 68 is sitting in the heated garage till spring with a lot of body parts to go on yet. Your all right in the thought all the parts are easy enough to get. Thats one good thing. I'll start getting estimates soon, and get ithe Park into the body shop. The ladie didn't even get a ticket!!! The Sherriff said new state law , if it's under 1000.00 they don't write tickets !! I didn't argue but i believe a new front bumper with all the trim, bumper filler, and moldings with labor and paint will get up there! Anyways thanx for your support i had to share this with you guys!! I guess next time your trapped behind something at a stop sign you have to leave 50 feet!! I was 15 feet away , per witness !!:stmad:

    Re: SUV...... V.S, PARK AVE...........

Does this mean the sheriffs are all 'certified appraisers' now?? Who are they to properly estimate the amount of damage? I suppose if there was no apparent damage, and both parties were OK with it - that would make sense. Other than that - it doesn't!

How can someone NOT get a ticket for hitting someone/something while in reverse on a main road?? It really doesn't matter if it was accidental!! Very odd!:Do No:

I don't know about any ticketing, but in PA ANY accident which occurs while you're in reverse is automatically declared your fault.

I was in an accident in Pittburgh once where I was hit backing up to a parking space in a lot. The guy who hit me was speeding, running a stop sign, and admitted to not looking to his right while making a right turn (he was pretending to yield).

I was declared 50% at fault. :jd: It was the best that the cop could write it up for me. There went that deductible.:af:

    S U V VS PARK AVE !!

:af: I still don't understand last nite ! No ticket issued if it's under a grand , these sherriffs must go to school to appraise buicks!! I bet ya if i backed up at a stop sign and hit someone i'd get a ticket !! I think it may be my "attitude" or cockey grin ! The good news is the park ave will be fixed in a week or so , the body shop said it will be a used bumper due to the fact it's a 91 !:af: Can't fight em, the insurance company said thats the way it is . :Do No: They tell me once it's painted and on i'll be happy. The body shop is going to throw in a lil paint work for me also. I guess it'll all work out. My luck , 2 years to find one this clean , and 2 weeks till someone bangs it !!! The cop thought it was a 2003, must have been those aftermarket port holes i put on the nite before!!

    under a $1000.00 HAH

this past summer dads 88 Chevy dually slipped out of park and rolled into a tree. Took a new hood, grill, bumper and bumper brackets. With paint and labor it was $2500.00 plus deductable. I'll bet you have a $1000.00 in just labor alone.

The cop thought it was a 2003. Another idiot when it comes to cars.

Just the two complete headlight assemblys could just about put you into the 1k range. Unless the 91 has just candles mounted up front. Sorry to hear bout the incident.
