Rubber bumpers from hood to fender

Hi,

I bought some rubber bumpers for my inner fenders that cushion the hood. They however do not fit. I noticed that the hole is not 100 open and that there is some metal that is preventing the bumper to go completely in. Is this normal and do I therefore have to cut the bumper a bit to get it to work? Or is there some fender alignment issue?

I had the same problem. I trimmed the rubber a bit and forced them in.

 

Thanks. is the slanted side what points up toward the hood and the flat side what points down toward the fender?
