    Dear ppat324,
First, I do mean the "dear." I sincerely apologize for beaching about my mother in-law during my recovery. Although I do mean everything I said, and more!!! I am VERY sorry for your continued pain. Boy do I know pain hurts! How about some funnies from me.... kinda. I had a really good day today. First, the in-laws left for the day. It was a BEAUTIFUL day!!! Blue sunny skies, 82 degrees, and my favorite grandson spent most of the day with me. (I only have 1 grandson.) I did some serious yard work. IMO the yard is looking terrible cause I have one good arm. I raked leaves till my arm started to hurt. My therapist would have sheet a brick! I filled 4 trash cans full of leaves and weeds. Then I worked on my broke down truck. I'm waiting on a bunch of wholesale parts from a friend who has a business and can order wholesale parts. A new radiator, condenser, evaporator, compressor, and more. After I "retardedly" flushed out my old transmission lines I put plastic baggies and zipties on all the line ends and also the A/C lines. Tough job one handed. Hurt like hell crawling under the truck. My left shoulder blade did not like that very much.
Funny stuff, I think? New stuff I can do... I took a shower after getting really dirty. My favorite grandson shoveled me full of dirt when I was gardening. Sheet happens! After my shower I did my exercises.
Joe, do what they tell you, but IMO the pulley thing on the porch ceiling is way better than the "finger crawl." You can do the pulley thing so many different ways. So I did it many different ways. Overhand, underhand, sideways, and more. I "Get to" push a ball with my open hand against a corner wall and then do it with the back of my hand. Getting better! Oh hell, jump to my favorite part of the last 24 hours. I SLEPT ON MY BELLY last night!!!!!!!!! I haven't done that since Nov. 23rd. I am, or was, a belly sleeper. Last night my shoulder was killing me. Just as a joke I decided to roll over to my belly and see what happened. It was GREAT!!!! I call it "neutral." You put your arm in a position, and then after a few seconds, it feels NO PAIN!!! I fell asleep instantly!
After my exercises I was feeling frisky. I was drinking a beer, or 2, or 3, or more with my youngest son and father in-law out front. My father in-laws name is Richard, but he goes by Dick. I won't say I like Dick, but he's way better than his crumb munching, can't stop talking, wife. So I get frisky. I jerked my arm right onto the top of the bed of my truck!!! I was thrilled! My son said, "Do it again!" I did it 3 times!!! Holy sheet! I can go up, but I have NO "brakes" going down. My arm slaps my side. Damn retard!!!
I used to go to 9 AM appointments, but now I'm thinking.... No lie, but "they" beat the crap out of you! I'd come home, pop a half a percocet, and get drunk. 3 PM is way closer to it's 5 o'clock some where!!! You get to work all day and then feel bad. Much better! I had a very good day!!!!!
Lucas, I wanted to say something to you, but I don't remember. Go figure!
Bill, you are AWESOME!!!!! Always love your thoughts and sarcasm!!!
Joe, the BEST is yet to come!!!
PPAT324, you are lucky to have a friend like Bill!!! I saw his eyes in the pictures he sent on this thread. He is Santa Claus in disguise!!!

Aw John, 1st call your MIL beach all you want. I don't care. I had one or two also.

Also, regarding Bill , he is SOOOO much more than my best friend. The only thing stopping us from being married legally is the license and neither one of us want that. We have a beautiful relationship, why mess it up??? And I agree, he is doing a fantastic job on the '64. She is going to be a beauty. I can not Wait to get her out this summer, if Bill is ready to take her out (which I hope he is, I hate paying store for the XGS)….ppat

Hey John look at you lifting your arm and what not.
I know the feeling of no traction while the arm is coming down it just smacks you.
Yesterday I was crazy bored so I decided to finally grab a bunch of my saved up license plate frames and started to clean them up and paint them. It wasn't to bad on the old arm.
I'll be selling some on eBay it keeps my mind occupied and keeps the hobby rolling along.
    Have a great day.....

Howdy broken people, except for Lucas,
I mean howdy to everyone. I don't think you are broken Lucas. Today my therapist caused me to bitch slap myself!!! What? I went in for my 3 o'clock appointment. I got James. I sure miss Brianna's beautiful blue eyes, almost white blonde hair, and kind, soft hands. James is the head of the torture group. He's actually their best therapist, IMO. He's also the manager. He actually takes the time to massage all the muscles that are getting ready to be stretched in all directions. First, in his defense I haven't had him for weeks. So he has know idea as to what I can, and cannot do. I'm laying on my back and he has my arm straight up stretching it. He let go of my arm to get the towel off of the other bed. Do you know what my arm did when he let go of it??? It fell straight down, hand first, and smashed me in the face!!! I busted out laughing, then James busted out laughing!!! He did apologize, but it was funny as hell!!!
Interesting... I think as a male you try harder to do the exercises for a male therapist. James would say stuff like, "Come on John, do 3 more!" So many times he had my arm shaking from the exercises. Almost like a weight lifter, but I'm just trying to move my arm. What a wus I am, right now. When I have a female therapist, well let's just say, they're easy handing out the kind comments. "Oh John, I'm so proud of you!" As I was leaving my hour of torture James said, "Do your exercises tomorrow." Men are definitely tougher on men.
I found something new I can't do. I borrowed my father in-laws car to go to the store. He puts those sun shield things in his front window when he parks it for the day. I found out, I can't do that. Oh well. I can pressure wash. I was doing that today. I'm going to finish the front of the house, and then hopefully get a new coat of paint on the front of the house. So much to do and so much that needs doing.
Joe... Your license plate frames are looking good. Thumbs up to you! Oh well, time for bed on my BELLY!!!

So, a little while later the image of the Lord appeared to me, The Lord.jpg
and he said, "Have a little fun." So I went out front, and sure enough, there sat the 2 in-laws right if front of the garage. At first I was kind. I told them, "I'm going to pressure wash the front of the house and you need to move." They did, a whole 5 feet away from the garage door. I thought, "That'll never work", and I fired up the pressure washer and began with the soffits. Water and spray were flying everywhere!!! They jumped out of their chairs and ran down the driveway screaming!!! I smiled! They moved their chairs to the bottom of the drive and went back to reading their books in the Sun. I knew the sound of the pressure washer droning away must surely be in their minds. Sure enough, one by one, first the female and then the male moved to the inside of the house. The Lord and his disciple smiled in delight. It was a very good day indeed.

    Joe,
I feel for you!!! I just got back from my torture class. Right now my arm is throbbing! I call it "contractions."
Driving a car... So you have the opposite problem I have. Last weekend GSFred, my son, my grandson, and I drove down to Ft. Lauderdale for a big Buick car show. My son drove us down there. I won't lie, when we got back I was depressed that I couldn't drive us. I can drive around town, but for a distance... 2 hands are needed in my opinion. The other day I was driving to the store. I used my right hand to put my left hand on the steering wheel. Then I put my right hand back on the wheel. I thought about using the turn signal. NO WAY!!! If I did that my "dead arm" would have ripped the turn signal switch right out of the column! Some day in the near future, I hope. :)>
I had a new therapist today. Stephanie..... I was trying to think of something smartazz to say, but I can't. What a nice young lady!!! I had a good time talking with her as she tortured me. As she was torturing me I started laughing and she asked me, "What?" I said, "The last time I saw the doctor he said 3 more weeks of passive exercises and then your muscles will just start working. Almost miraculously." There is NO miraculous recovery!!!!! Bummer.
I guess it is time to make some lunch and get my butt in gear. Y'all have a GREAT weekend!!!
    John

    Dear Joe,
Oh crap, I'm to buzzed to write anything! BRIANNA asked about you today. I told her I haven't been on the board in 2 weeks. Do you remember the full beer challenge? She did. That sheet ain't happening for awhile! So disappointing!!! I changed all my appointments to 3 PM. Much better as far as getting stuff done instead of complaining all day. I'll be back tomorrow. I can only read, not type, right now.

Good morning Joe, and other broken people,
First, the good news. No, my arm doesn't do much yet, but my in-laws are GONE!!!!! They have been visiting with us since Jan. 7th. Holy sheet!!! Talk about the most terrible recovery ever possible. It was soooooo nice waking up this morning to the sound of SILENCE! Enough of them....
I had a very interesting Sunday. My son talked me into going boating with him and my nephew's family. It was an eye opening day, all day long. We go to put the boat in the water. I'm following the boat and trailer down the boat ramp. I "was" going to unhook the winch cable from the front of the boat until I noticed all the green algae on the boat ramp. Scared the crap out of me!!! No way 'ole one arm is going to catch himself if I slip on the boat ramp. That would be a terrible fall!!! Getting in the boat..... I never realized how hard it is to get in a boat from the dock with one arm. Dam near impossible! The boat ride... There must have been a billion boats out on the water. Alex's boat is just a little 16 foot runabout. I was holding my left arm like a baby. All the waves made for a very bouncy ride that was hard on my shoulder. We get to the sandbar. The water was only about 2 feet deep on the side of the boat. It was still hard getting out of the boat. It was a flat out beautiful day!!! Hot beaches everywhere in string bikinis! About 85 degrees, but very windy. The wind blew my baseball cap off. My cap was blowing towards deeper water. Crap! I walked out to my hat and the water was getting deeper and deeper. I thought, can I swim with one arm? I mean I know I could swim with just one arm, but would "good for nothing" start thrashing around? Luckily the water didn't get much above my waist.
The ride home.... Dear Lord baby Jesus, 7 lbs. 6 ounces, Thank you for not letting us die!!!
So we're on our way home. Luckily the boat trailer's left wheel bearing took a crap. So we left the boat at nephew Shane's house. So Alex is driving my truck at a mellow 65 MPH going down I-95. We're in the 2nd lane from the outside. He starts to slow down and move towards the slow lane. I'm guessing a blob of traffic is coming up on us and he's just moving out of their way. As we move into the slow lane the truck turns sharper and is heading for the emergency lane barrier wall!!! I look over and my son is sound asleep. (He does work the midnight shift and hadn't slept yet.) I lunge for the steering wheel with my left arm. No good. I missed the steering wheel and literally ended up laying across the truck's bench seat. I grab the steering wheel with my right hand, gave a giant turn left, heard the back tires start to slide, and gave another tug right, pulling myself up from the seat!!!!! Alex wakes up and we're going straight in the slow lane. I can't believe we didn't hit the wall!!!! Thank you Lord!!! That was one heck of a fun day!
So how's my arm? I went to see the doctor Thursday morning. He's a very straight guy with no small talk. He tells me to stand up. I stood up. He took my arm, held it straight up and said, "What will happen if I let it go?" I told him, "It will fall." He mumbled 3 to 4 more weeks. That was about it. Therapy is getting much less painful. Yey!!! I am getting to play with new "toys" at the therapy place. The bungee cord pull, the bicycle machine for your arms, and squeezing a ball against the wall. The frontwards and sideways wall slides are the hardest things to do. My left arm is "trying" to do more and more. It works pretty good below my chest, but nothing higher. One day at a time.
Here's a couple of pictures of Sunday's boating around Jupiter Inlet and 2 pics of my arm plate I got off of my doctor.

    Joe,
I apologize for forgetting to ask how your therapy is going. I'm not good at doing the quotes on this site so I'll just type it. "I told her I got things to do." LMAO and nodding my head up and down. YES, we have things to do!!!! I'm glad to hear your doing pretty dam good in my opinion. I didn't get the bungee things until just last week. Keep going Joe!!!!! (Any wall slides yet?)
    Now for my report back....
"Guess what day it is Joe?" Yes, it is Hump Day, but I found out today was my 20th visit. Another "performance review." It was WAY better than the 10th visit performance review. I remember dying on that review. This one really didn't hurt except from the one "losing an arm wrestling match stretch." That one still kills me. I used to be so good at beating people left handed. I don't thing I'll ever do a left handed arm wrestle again! Brianna asked me questions again. Her second question came with an "Oh here we go with you telling me things I don't want to know." 2. Can you carry a bag of groceries? First I wanted to say that's women's work, unless you get caught at home when the groceries show up. I said, "Yes I can carry a bag of groceries, a Buick tire, a battery to the backyard, and today my left arm helped my right arm carry a hydraulic jack." She said, "TMI." That's about it for now. I have a ton of stuff to do getting ready for the 2nd Annual South Florida Buick Get Together." You, your dad, Lucas, and the rest of the crazy cast of characters from this show are all invited!
I've got at least 20 cars showing up to my house Saturday for lunch and a gathering. Probably 30 to maybe 40 people too. Some people can't bring their car because it's not ready yet. I've got 3 beautiful cars from the 50's showing up. A good amount of late 60's. A few 70's. And a bunch of "black cars." Sure wish I had bought one of those "black cars" back in 87 instead of the POS Pontiac Fiero my wife wanted. I'll bet we'd still have it!!! Check this out. I've got Jim from Naples coming across the state with his awesome GSX and a local guy bringing his GNX. Very cool!!! Steve, AKA "Briz", is coming all the way from North Florida with his beautifully custom 68 Rivera GS Stage 1. I know they didn't make one, but he did, and it is soooooo nice!!! I'll be posting pictures on that thread Monday or Tuesday. Talk to you all later............

Thanks for the invite, John! If my distance from you was in the hundreds and not the thousands I'd be there in a heartbeat.....in 3 more years I get a month of vacation instead of 2 weeks, and God willing we're all still around and above ground............My plan is to take 2 or 3 of those weeks and do the lap of America, stopping in and meeting/visiting everybody on here I consider friends and getting into adventures :). Looking forward to those pics.......
