Tossing round the idea of caging my 70'Skylark. Track requires an NHRA approved rollcage for anything running 11.50 or faster in the 1/4. While not required in my car yet , and probably not for a few more seasons, (13.38/102.52 best), I would like to look into my options and am curious what others have done. I was looking at the Summit site and came across this kit.

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Art Morrison (A.M.E). I had GoFast Productions do the installations. Just an 8 point and two driveshaft loops in our Skylark. An 8.50 cage in our Camaro. My friend, who owns the shop, said that getting the main hoop, etc. pre-bent saves time and money. There was still a bit of fab work in the Camaro. Then, I had the back half 'tinned out'. And he said the A.M.E. cages fit the best.

I second just finding a shop to do it. the one that did mine bent it around my door panels, and welded it in without even damaging the headliner.

its smart to put a cage in even if not required. the car will handle better, and you will.be thankful if something does happen. in my 20 years of racing seen more than few slower cars without cages find the wall. or have a much faster car loose it and correct the slower up in the mess

Thanks for the tip, only makes sense. I oftened laughed at my buddy's big roll bar in the bed of his truck, bolted in with 8 little bolts.

Have one made by a skilled shop. If you want a headliner in your car, make sure it is real nice or replaced before you put any type of halo in because you will never get at it once it is installed. They can also build the cage to you,the driver.
