As I was pushing them down the bores with my fingers most of the rod studs actually pushed up out of the rods a little. None fell out completely/got mis matched, but it seems the splines aren't holding anymore. Will this be an issue? It's a '71 2 barrel motor. Tiny .439 lift cam (it was free, new in box). Just tossing it together to make the car mobile so stability at 5000rpm is not a concern for me. Any input as always is appreciated.
Just tap the Bolts back in enough with a plastic or Brass mallet such that you can get the rod caps back on and get the nuts started and you will be fine.
