Putting on rebuilt rockers and I am concerned the oil splash guard (not sure of proper name) is close to valve spring, not touching just close, is this an issue? About to fire this thing for break in and triple checking everything.

    Thanks,

loosen the bolt and pry it up a little,or oblong the bolt hole to push it towards the inside, or put a thin washer underneath the shield. the rocker arm on left side of photo looks off center on the valve tip that would bother me more if it really is.

Good catch, but the rocker is dead center, the photo is deceiving. Thanks for the ideas I will try and see what happens.

Aren't those valves sunken to much in the first place? If they are, they will be bending the pushrods. What is the hight of valve tip from the valve cover plane?

    Peace,

how important is the splash guard ? could you just take it off ? or is it just to keep the oil from splashing up into the air breather?

The shield is help prevent oil from being sucked into the PCV valve.
I'd be more worried about the tips on the rocker arms. By the pic the one that can be seen appears to be about ten times thicker than it should be.
