    I have this Rochester 4GC "4 Jet" carb with number 7026941 cast on bottom of the body...at least I think the "9" is a "9", since it's a little disfigured. I've researched the lists of the carb I.D. numbers, but can't find this number or a one real close to it, to identify the application. The closest number I've found to my number is 7026040 and is for Buick. I've seen a couple of pictures of it in my searching which also point to Buick, and maybe Pontiac, from around 64-66.
    So, I was hoping that you Buick experts might recognize it, and can tell me what year, car and engine this carb is for from these photos. Thanks, Steve

    A little research shows that a 702 "69" would have been in the numbering sequence after Rochester switched to the newer quadrajet. What else could the 9 be?

    I suppose it could be a "0", but it's hard to say for sure. A "0" fits better with the numbers I see for the 4GC carbs, but even the rest of the sequence of numbers doesn't appear in the lists. I was hoping someone with a mid-60's Buick might recognize it from its appearance. From the looks of the choke, I'm thinking it's a later one in the 4GC's history, like 65-66 before the change to Q-jets. Thanks for your help.

    I think the 9 could be a 0 since the early carbs mostly had a 0 for the 5th digit.

    70 = Rochester Products
    26 = 1966
    9 = Unsure
    4 = Buick
    1 = Manual Trans.
