    Hi people,

I am trying to rebuild my Riviera 78, 403ci. But here in Belgium there are almost no more parts available.
Need 2 doors very badly ...
Can somebody help, please. Im even willing to buy a complete car if i have to, and put it on a container to Belguim.

    Thank you!

    Tony

Tony, if not already a member, you need to check out the Riviera Owners Association (ROA) and maybe the BCA club.

    www.buickclub.org
    www.rivowners.org

The ROA also has it's own forum on the BCA/AACA site.

    Hi Jarrod,

i have been searching for a long time now, so another few days won't kill me

Please keep in mind that the doors have to be send to Belgium, so they will have to be crated. Another solution is to have them send to a guy I know, who ships a container to Holland 2 - 3 times a year. I'll contact him and keep you informed.

When you get to it, can you please check the window frames? It is very crucial that they're ok, cause all i have here is competely eaten by rust.
Can you also check of there is a real good rear bumper on the car(s)? So i can decide to have mine re-chromed or not.

I understand that this type of car is no classic, and has no value in the USA, but for me it is real important. The rest of my car is ready to drive.

Lets talk price in PM or normal e-mail. tonydb@telenet.be.

Thank you very much!!:TU: :TU: :TU:

    Hi Tony,

I referenced a 1970-81 Mitchell Domestic Interchange manual which indicates a front door assembly, less the outside door handle, from a Buick 77-79 2 door, Oldsmobile 77-79 2 door, and Riviera 77 will fit your 78 Riviera. Can you locate any of these cars locally?

    That's what I was thinking.
That many of the full sized GM's of that era shared doors.

    Some update .. finally
And it,s no good news. I've been calling around the last 10 days, with one result: one guy was willing to sell me 2 doors for 500 a piece (650USD). But when i got there the doors were in a bad state: rusted and filled with bondo.

As i desperately need doors i offered 500 for the 2 doors. So, again i came home empty handed. :ball:

Anybody has a very nice one for sale ay a good price? I'll buy it and container it to Belgium.

Today I found an Oldsmobile! I'll go check it out tomorrow.

Thank you all for a the help so far !!

    Hello James,

is your car sold? If not i'll buy it for a nice price. Maybe if i combine it with another one, transport cost won't ruin me completely ..

    Tony,

The 77 and 78 Riviera shared the same platform as the LeSabre.
They are both "B" body cars.
In other words the doors and hardware are the same.
The doors were also used on the 2 door 77 and 78 Electra.
If need be I can run you a list of the other makes and models that
    use this door.
    Let me know.

Any luck? I was talking to a guy the other day and he also has those cars in his yard so i'm going to check them out for you if you still need them.

Let me know. He won't sell the whole car but he will part it.

    Hi Jarrod,

yes, i am still on the hunt! I have found one car i am trying to buy. Customs in Belgium don't allow 'junk' into our nice country.A sollution would be to find one running car, and ad another into a container as "donorcar". And to keep the cost as low as possible adding new carpets and so on.
Another problem is that America is so huge ... need to find cars that are not 3000 miles apart. To give you an idea: Belgium north to south is not even 180 miles. so it takes some adaptation for me.

I think my best plan is to get on an airplane to the USA. But than again ...where to start?

I wish to thank you all for helping me out so far. I do believe we (I) will succeed in getting it all together !!

    Thanks!

    Tony
