What would I use on restoring the belts itself back to black luster? Would a black clothes dye work? Would it bleed on my new pearl interior?

Do not use RIT dye. Will not take to seatbelts. SEM Vinyl dye, landau black. Jim

Wash and scrub the belts with a soft brush multiple times before dyeing. It's unbelievable how much dirt and grime builds up in the webbing.

Already scrubbed and dishwashed...the faded black look wont look right with the new interior. I will try the vynil dye

I did that with the seat belts in my Aquamist GS. Hot water, scrub brush and laundry detergent in a bucket. I cant believe how brown the water turned. When they went in, they were almost stiff and after when they dried, they were soft as anything.

X2 on NOT using RIT dye. It WILL bleed onto anything that comes in contact (especially sweatty skin and then onto your clothes...)RIT is for fabric, like cotton or wool; Seat belts are woven nylon usually. The SEM dye is your best bet.

I am picturing mine (if I ever get the right year!......sigh) clamped on both ends with my wide mouth Vise Grips (custom modified units with eyelets secured from a textile lab doing tensile testing of fabric) then hit the webbing with my smaller pressure washer. That should blow the grime out in a hurry if it doesn't turn the belts into an unruly trampoline and bounce all over the place lol
