Terry- did you restore the top frame? If so, media blast?

Decided to start on glass build and install. Have NOS rollers for front and rear windows. Glass is all new with date coded added to match original glass. All metal stops had material or rubber removed and blasted/painted and re-covered with new rubber or material. (I know I have a problem..). Laid out all the parts for the quarter windows and put them in.

George, Yes I restored it. It was tore down and blasted, painted. All bolts and hardware were either new or re-plated originals. All new bushings as well. If you decide to do this on yours I got lots of info on what parts and diagrams if you need them.

    Some pics when tore down...

Joe, I thought you put me in contact with the guy you used or had him call me. I did all the ordering etc because I had the date code info needed for the glass. I believe since you were putting in the windshield it all got shipped to you. BTW this glass is real nice and fit really good and the date coding is right on.

Hey Terry - What are those flat "H" clips holding down your cowl screen and where did you source them? I'm missing them. The stainless cowl molding is all that's holding my screen down.

Ken, That's what they are called H clips, should have 5 across the cowl. You can get them Parts Place, Cars, etc. Mine are originals and I believe I have an extra set of originals that are fine. I can check for you?

Edit- Found em- PM me your addy and the next time I’m up past PO I’ll send them to you. If we ever meet up at an event you can buy me a beer.

Put sound deadening in car yesterday. This was from Lowes "Peel and Seal" and it was $16.00 a roll, used 3. Plus a roll of $8.00 foil tape. This stuff sticks to anything, worked great and molds nice. I'm not sure how well it works compared to Dynamat or Husmat but for $56.00 and not having to pay for shipping I used this.

You are now caught up to me...

I did not get pictures of the glass installed. I am waiting on top insulation/weatherstrip so I can install all the stops and adjust them coming tomorrow hopefully. I will get pics of the finished windows once everything is completed and all trim is installed. Waiting on hydraulic hose set for convertible pistons and then will install carpet, kick panels, park brake, and then hopefully seats are finished by end of July. Bumpers should be here in a couple weeks as well, will post pics with additional progress.

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

Thats really cool. I looked on Lowes website but I could not find it. Any chance you could post a pic of the box or the item numbers. I really like the way it is a lot less costly than other sound deadening options. Thanks for the idea and info. Very cool.

That’s good to hear, was not sure how it would perform although it isn’t coming off soon or ever, that tar stuff sticks.

Terry, if I can ask where did you get your glass? Pilkington used to be the best.
The only problem that I have heard of with the peal & seal is when it gets hot it smells like tar. Great looking work...….

Nelson, used Auto City Classics in MN for all glass, no complaints and they did the date coding to match originals.

Terry- a few pages back, I saw a picture and it looks like you had the shifter rods either black or grey phos coated? I have (secretly) not been in agreement that the rods should be gold cad plated, rather either natural steel or some type of rust inhibiting coating. What did you base this coating on and what coating did you use??

George, are you taking about the transmission shift rods? They are some type of dull gray phosphate coating almost natural I originally had them gold cad but Dennis M who rebuilt the transmission told me they need to be gray that they were not gold cad/anodized till 70 so he re-plated them himself for me.

First page shows the tranny recieved from Dennis.
