I ordered 2 sets, need one set for my race car that I'll probably never finish and one set to go on the shelf. No, I don't have the money either, but I will need a grille someday, If we don't support the vendors NOW we will never get anything else reproduced.....

Nice goin' guys. Lets keep it up. We dont own Novas and Chevelles, so we cant pick up any ole catalogue and order up everything we need for our Buicks bumper to bumper. It takes effort like this for our Buicks because every Tom, dick and Harry dont have one.

I can actually SEE the day when we can get a repro 70 GS Grill getting closer. Bring 'em on!

Are the 70 GS repro tailight lens still available at the $249.95 including the gaskets? If so I will take one set!

    Guys,

I dont know how often he reads this board, Soooooooo, read the first post on this thread, call the number, and place the order with Alan himself. He needs firm credit card orders to meet the minumum requirements of the manufacturing company.

Bite your tongue! Consider me PLUGGED IN! :Smarty:

I've sold parts to Jeff in the past so I am very familiar with him and his website. Anyone into 68-69 probably knows of his site.

    http://www.flash.net/~stanbrad/

Plus, I must say, we 68-69 owners are sometimes our own worst enemies because I don't think we speak up enough on issues like this. I have tried hard (maybe not hard enough) in the past to rouse interest in repro parts but I don't know the first thing about it. The first step is getting all 68-69 owners on the same page and "aware". We are sometimes the first to complain about lack of repro parts, but last to band together on getting it done. We need guidance and ideas. Strength is also in numbers. We don't have the numbers compared to the 70-72 crowd, but we have enough to make a statement. All those posts in the members rides section of all the nice 68-69 rides shows me they are out there. We need to come up with project ideas and maybe use the same sources as the 70-72 projects are using, but the 70-72 owners are throwing bigger $$ around, so they attract more attention. I f we seriously want parts, then we need to come up with $$. That's been the problem from day one. Even from the GSCA, the answer was always that there was not enough interest in the 68-69 cars to warrant any serious parts repro efforts. Either we have the cash for repro parts or we don't. Nobody can control that. All I'm saying is money talks. Nothing new there. Some have more than others. That's understood. But you can't get anything done without money and a "sincere" committment to a given project.

    Hi Ernie -

Are your two cars factory Stage1 cars? Interested in joining the Stage1 registry? It's important we document the survivors.

    funnie thing

    its a funnie thing.....

the guy i bought mine off of was about 75-80 ish

he said he didn't have time for it anymore..
he was an old pilot a trainer from WW2

he lived in orlando florida and his new car is a merc grand marquis

and NO can't have it.... sorry.... the guy who found it for me in florida owns a 71 gs hard top and has first dibs on it IF i ever sell it.

you should see my winter car.... i should put some pics on here with it..

needless to say its an 87 honda accord 187k miles on it.. its 4 inches shorter (I T boned a guy) the radiator moved 3 inches back on the pass side and 1 inch back on the drivers and didnt split open.. hood latch is broken have hood pins holding hood down (functional hood pins unlike most import guys)...forgot to put the pins in after working on it :Dou: (crushed temp switch for cooling fans and was replacing) made it about 40 miles
hit about 85 mph and hood flew up... now the hood is basicly turned inside out and it caved the roof of the car in 3 inches.. a simple punch on the inside brought the front half almost back to normal... AND!!! the exaust system broke recently right before the CAT on top of that for a single exaust sys... complete minus cat it is about 250 for parts alone! i can put duals on my buick for about 150 more..... GRR....

    sorry... just a sensitve issue....

    Updated Numbers

Counted the list of people signed up for the 70 lenses. Total number is 14 so far.

These are probably the same 14 people interested in buying sidemarker lenses.

I sent a letter to the GSCA and some guy named John Drury (who sounded a lot like Mark Stevens and Richard) said that something would be in the next GSXtra about them. I'm hoping that will reach a lot of people.

    Re: Updated Numbers

I hope so too Alan! It's in the best interest for all '70 'A' body owners to know this, not only the ones on the internet. I've talked with people on the phone who contacted me through an article I wrote for the GS X-Tra (Stage1 registry) and these people were unaware you were doing this. I gave them (more than one person) your # so hopefully you guys can hook up and do business.

Thanks for talking the time and effort to do this for all of us.

While I don't need the tailights, I cannot wait for the overflow jugs to be done (clear top/base for early '70 model). Yellow just isn't my color :gt:

Thanks again, and keep up the great work!

PS - I made your post in the GSCA Lounge a 'stickey' so it stays at top for all to see first!

AL I will take a set

Al I called for you yesterday and did not get to talk to anyone;but I left a message.I do not really need a set right away but since they are put on a charge card I am going to go ahead and order a set now.I THINK EVERYONE NEEDS TO SUPPORT THIS SO OTHER ITEMS CAN BE REPRODUCED.Those that have said they will need taillights but not ready for them right away;go ahead and call AL and give him your order by charge card.It may take a few weeks or months for they to be charged to your card and you can always make the payments to the card,it is not like the full price is required to be paid at once to your card.Let's get the 70 taillight project done and move to the next item to be reproduced.
