Does anyone know if a repro heater control valve vacuum hose is being made? The hose with the white stripe on it.

    Thanks.

Any "reproduction" vacuum hose Ive bought has dried up and cracked with a year or two. Frankly, you'd be better off with auto parts store hose IMO

I used to "steal" all my vacuum hoses, small hoses etc, off old Cadillacs or big cars in junk yards. The hoses were always too long for the A-bodies, so it was an easy matter to pick a good section out and cut them to the proper lengths. I have been using them on all my cars for years.

You can't beat the look of original hoses.

Thanks guys. Looks like the hunt is on. I'm going to try for an original style hose. Fortunately there's some good pick-a-part places around here. The bad section of the old hose hides behind the air cleaner so for now some black gorilla tape will do.

The original white striped hose had kind of a painted on look to it. The repro stuff does not look the same.

Try Docrebuild.com he specializes in Corvette stuff but I know he has a ton of vacuum hoses for the NCRS grade restorations. I'm pretty sure he can get you what you need.

I bought some white striped stuff on eBay. The only thing "special" about it was the ad. The ID was correct but the OD was too big. I could have purchased vacuum hose from O'Reillys for a lot less and painted my own stripe. The firewall grommet was the determining factor. Those holes require a hose with a very small OD. I too, ended up using junk yard stuff to pass through the grommet. I used new hose wherever I could on my 1967 Skylark.
