Replacing with a 4 barrel

    Composite or phenolic. Aluminum conducts heat easily, not good to insulate.

    you could probably make that work,,,, but the more complicated it is the more likely to fail.... :rolleyes: I would rather fine a factory original somewhere and go with that....:Smarty:

    Wicked,,,, :grin: I use a piece of 3/16 plate steel and a gasket for a heat shield/adapter on my doc dual plane manifold with a holley carb.... that works very well indeed....
    I have that on both cars,, the 64 riv has a 750 holley and the 65 GS has a 1050 three barrel holley....
    if you go for bigger cfm's ,, you have to modify the air cleaner to accomodate the increased flow...
    and if you increase flow enough , the exhaust side too....:idea2:
