I did a search and could not find the answer, but the oil pan on my 300 will not come off due to clearance issues with the cross member and flywheel. Will there be enough room if I unbolt the motor mounts and lift the engine as far as the firewall will allow? The pan is about 1/2" from clearing the flywheel with engine and trans in place. Thx

Yes, I could have the pan off my 65 Special 300 in 20 mins. If your starter still has the rear bracket on it may take longer. I take the long bolt out of the passengers side mount, jack the engine up and block it up with a wooden block under the exhaust manifold. It helps to get the starter out of the way and it gives you the opportunity to put a fresh set of brushes in while it's out. Take the gravel shield off and remove all the pan bolts, drop the pan down and take the 2 bolts (maybe 7/16 head) off the oil pick up and let it drop into the pan. Now you should be able to slide the pan out.

Thanks.....It took me a "little" longer than 20 minutes but everything went great.
