one of the guys on this site , a fellow canuck and unfortunately i do not remember his name/handle , instructed me as to the process to repaint the seatbelt buckle top cover . the result is like new ! i give all credit to him as i pass this info on . i am sure others may be in the same scenario that i was .
    here we go--
pop top cover off using a small thin-bladed screwdriver .
soak the cover in paint remover for 30 minutes (or use spraybomb paint remover to coat the surfaces) .
carefully scrape off the bubbled paint with a dull putty knife . (may require a second short soaking) .
immerse the cover in toluene for a minute or 2 .
use a small detailing steel brissled brush to remove any leftover paint .
    clean with prepsol .
paint with ctc black bumper paint .
at the same time i also refurbed the pushbutton unit with semi-gloss black paint .
after paint has dried , carefully re-install .
be careful re_installing the covers because they have to be done properly or the buckle assembly will not work . best to refurb one buckle at a time .

    Hi Gerry,
I had posted a pic on this about a month ago. Had the same great results as you.
Must be honest about the credit though. A buddy of mine, Joe Doucette, does all the work on my car. He gets me to do the easy stuff & lets me help with the more complicated tasks. Joe showed me a set he had done for another fellow. Told me how easily they can be done.
