I just got the rear suspension on and rear end installed. Redsixty9 is on all fours. Waiting on the rear brakes from Baer should be there this week. Next up plumbing. rear brake lines, hydroboost and fuel system.:Dou: IMG_20150322_141203_776.jpg IMG_20150322_130311_047.jpg

SS4+ all the way around. I went with them so I could run 15" wheels. I plan on running bigger wheels in the future but for now the 4 grand for wheels and tires can be used elsewhere on the car. I plan on getting things dialed in this summer drive train and interior. I will paint it over the winter. I may age the car with a patina for this summer for the fun of it undecided though. I run the paint dept. on a TV show and we do this all the time. It hurts me when they make me do it to pristine vehicles. 198.jpg 205.jpg

Cool, I went with SS4+ in the front as well for the same reason. Then I put 18s lol. After talking to Baer, the 11" rotor ss4+ brakes actually have more clamping force than the bigger brakes. What size MC and booster are you running?

How do you patina a car by the way?

I used a hydroboost system. I have had issues with low vacuum before. The hydroboost eliminates the booster. It runs off the power steering pump eliminating the need for vacuum to operate the brakes. You can run as big of a camshaft as you want without effecting the brakes. The master cylinder is a 1 1/8" bore.

Nice, I have the same issue with a little low vacuum. Brakes work, but there is room for improvement. Which unit did you go with, and where did you get in?

it's a little trick I learned. I use tempra paint and or japan colorants. Then lock it down with floor wax or glazing liquid. it depends how long we need the vehicle for. We use a ammonia solution to wash off the tempra and wax or thinners to wipe off the japs and glazing liquid. It works great. I've done it on everything from vintage aircraft, to cars, trains and motorcycles including the Batmobiles.

yes it's a S60. It really wasn't much more than doing a 12bolt. I'm not sure of the color it's not the original color. Thanks

longevity depends on what medium you use. I'll post a pic. of a indian motorcycle I had to do. One of four in existence. It takes some vision and spray equipment but you can do it.

So tell us more about your Stepchild and what all you've done body / mechanical wise. It looks really sweet :beers2:

.. I've been eyeing the S60 setup for the Wagon. What did you use for control arms ?

Nice 69! To continue Alan's question, what coilovers are you using and who makes those mounting plates to attach them to the rear? I'd be much more inclined to switch over if I didn't have to weld anything to the rear.

    Thanks,

    Jon

I bought the car in Buffalo,NY. Flew out drove it back to Chicago. At Christmas I tore it apart. Pulled the front end motor and trans. Pulled the suspension, brakes and stripped the firewall. Steam cleaned and wire wheeled the firewall and frame to about the front of the seats. Car was clean no heavy pitting or rot.Painted the front frame and firewall.New heater core and A/C as long as I was there. Put in a JGC box and ridetech level2 suspension with coil overs, front and rear Muscle bars. Converted to hydratech system and bear SS4+ brakes. Installed a 464ci with bulldog heads purchased from a member from here. Was going to build a motor but decided I had a good opportunity to speed up the build. Really wanted to do a 470ci Stage2. I changed the old kenne-bell sumped oil pan with a baffled stocker to pick up ground clearance as well added shorty headers. Pulled the rear suspension, gas tank and fuel lines.Steam cleaned the chassis again the metal super clean. I just scotchbrited the floors all the undercoating basically came off with the steam cleaner. Wire wheeled the frame and sprayed rust incapsulator and chassis black satin.Installed a Strange S60 with True Trak and a 355 gear. Baer SS4+ for the rear brakes and new stainless lines go on this week. I have a new gas tank with a 1/2 inch RobbMc pick up plumbed to a RobbMc fuel pump and filters. Push-lok lines and a Pro-systems 950. I have a Turbo 400 with I believe a 11 inch converter. Soon to add a Gear Vendors overdrive or overdrive trans I'll run the turbo for now.I want to get everything done mechanically and interior wise and work the bugs out this summer. I'll paint it over the winter. Going with 18" and 19" wheels hopefully at least a 295 in back probably 245's up front on Billet Specialties wheels. Car has a black interior with buckets, a/c and power windows. Going to do a Dakota Digital analog gauge dash I have to design.I also want to make a 1970 style GS grill for it just to be different. I cant seem to give up the money to buy a 70 grill to cut up for a experiment. There is just something that bugs me about the 69 grill I could use a 68 I guess. That's where I'm at now. Thanks for asking from one stepchild to another.

Ridetech coil overs no welding and no hassles everything worked as they said. Just had to drill two 1/2 inch holes for the rear.
