Recommendations for a 401 Riv!

'65 Riviera, 401, 4bbl, all stock. Looking for some good performance parts to bolt-on, what works for these cars? Thinking of the typical headers, exhaust, cam, intake manifold... maybe a bigger carb??? Do Flowmasters sound good with these engines?

You just need to get the right intake manifold. :TU:

 

The only headers out there are the TA Performance shorties, and they also offer a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust to go with it. It's designed to use Walker Dynamax super turbo mufflers. I've got the super turbos on the 70 Stage 1, and they're quiet when driving 'normal', and get loud when I'm on it, just like they're supposed to. Right now I'm begining the install on my 64 Rivi, right side is off, left side still to go, noise report and drag strip results to follow.....

 

:grin: like the idea of adding another one! How about high lift rumpy-rump-rump cams?
If you have before and after dyno and drag tests with the shorties that would be great. Just found this on the TA site, thanks, would likely go with Flow's, like the tinny, tubular sound.

THE TA HEADERS ARE KICK A@@ THEY ONLY GIVE YOU A 1 IN SPACE BETWEEN THE BRAKE LINE ON TH POWER BOOSTER SIDE BUT WOW THEY ARE THE STUFF IM WORKING ON CHROME SIDE PIPES FOR TH TOTAL LOUD NOISE BUT A 66 Q JET MANIFOLD IS A GOOD SINGLE CARB CHOICE, HOW A BOUT A 6 PACK OR TRYPOWER I WILL LET YOU KNOW WITCH ONE WORKS THE BEST BUT REMEMBER I HAVE A ADAPTERPLATE AND A CORVETT700R4 TRANS AND A 323 POSSI SO THE OUT COME MIGHT BE DIFFERENT. THE CAM PROFIL I HAD GROUND WAS THE BIGGEST I COULD GO WITHN OUT ROCKER MODS IT RUMBLES NICLY!!!
