For my 1970 GS I have ordered new upper/lower control arms for the front. They are supposed to offer better castor/camber dynamics. About the rear: Does anyone have any experience to tell me if boxed lower rear arms make any difference in ride/handling or anything at all? Seems like they are meant to deflect some anyway from the rubber/poly mount points.
I don't think you would notice any difference in the ride and handling. Maybe on the dragstrip you would. The main reason for boxed arms was for a solid place to attach the rear sway bar. W/o a bar, you really don't need the arms unless you have a Gazillion HP engine.
I agree with above. But if you are going to spend the money on the fronts, you need to rear to handle as well or you won't get much out of your front suspension investment. If you changed to adjustable uppers and lowers, then you could make a difference, and go with an anti-roll bar like this Spohn one. http://www.spohn.net/shop/1968-1972...ries-Rear-Drag-Sway-Bar-1968-1972-A-Body.html
Thanks guys, it makes sense that it would benefit for rear sway bars. I guess that's why the F41 suspension has the boxed arms on the back.
