Well guess whos NOT going to Carlisle this year , for Mopar or GM. Why you might ask ? is it because of uncertainty in this time of war , the sluggish economy , the uncertain future of you job ? No Im not going to Carlisle because of an audex .. you know the annoying machine that answers the phone in place of a human being at all the hip cutting edge companies including the company that does the room booking for Carlisle productions ... Accomodations Express. Everytime Ive called their number from January 1st until today I always get the damn audex telling me to leave a message and they will get back to me .... after calling at least once a week from my home since January 1st of this year I finally get a call back TODAY , WHILE IM AT WORK !!!!!!!!. So now Im back at ground zero YET AGAIN , so I think well maybe Ill go on their website E mail them and beg for a phone number that is answered by a human being so I can make the neccesary arrangements . You see the problem is I was attending 2 shows this year GM & Mopar and I was trying to secure accomodations for myself and members of the 2 local car clubs I belong to. This meant different show dates and different arrival and departure days for different people .... things that just werent discussing with a glorified tape recorder . I go to accomodations express website click on the contact us link and get an unavailable message , I try the homepage link and get the same thing .... perfect....... once again the machine is running interference so that the people at this company dont have to deal with the customer directly . So in a last act of desperation before Im to present this information at one of the clubs meetings tomorrow night I try to book at least 1 room for each event .... only to find out they are now SOLD OUT for both shows . Id bitch to accomodations express but I would have to bitch to their audex and Ive really already spent more time with that thing than I wanted to. Doesnt anybody answer the phone anymore ???????. The way I see it this audex has cost them at least 3 probaly more rooms for each of these 2 shows and has left a sour taste in my mouth for the whole Carlisle thing and going to Carlisle for each of these shows has in the last few years been the highlights of my summers . I feel your pain. It displeases me greatly when a machine answers a business phone. I can see a point if it tells you store hours and directions, but when you have to navigate through ten sub-menus just to get hung up upon, it stinks.
2 can play that game: "Hi, to get the money I owe you for service X press 1" "You have selected 1. Leave a message and I will return your call with a check as SOON as possible" ...you should see how mad my bank got when I charged them a service fee for opening thier sales letters in my monthly statement.
oh yeah Whenever I want to speak to an actual human being, I refrain from pushing any buttons. After a few promptings, it sends me directly to an operator. It certainly doesn't work in all cases. Banks and Credit card companies mainly.
