I have been trying to sell my stage 2 powered regal with no luck. I am considering a switch to iron heads and different internals so I can lower the price. What needs to be done with the extra head bolt holes in the block when going back to iron heads. Thanks, Dennis Halladay
I would try threaded allen plugs. I did that to block some of the water pick up area on my Merc 200 outboard and it works great. Seal the threads with teflon paste or something.
That should work fine. It's a common 'trick' for the sbc guys to put 3/4" NPT plugs in the deck into the round water holes between the cylinders to 'stiffen' the deck. Just use some loctite and make sure the plug is below the surface.
