Ram air breather housing (homemade)

    Been a while since I've posted but thought I'd pass this on.

    I made two prototypes of this housing but only needed one and am willing to pass this on to anyone that will put it to use. I just ask for shipping to be paid.

    Attached is the main part of the housing but I've shown both the finished one (that I've been using for a couple of years) and the unfinished prototype. I used the flexible aluminum 4" dryer duct and screen and inlet horn from Spectra. Only the unfinished breather housing is available so it will require completion to seal around your 14" open element breather and filter. I used plywood for the bottom (painted black). Take a look at the pictures to see more detail. Also included is a picture to show the height of the carb. in my car to give you an idea for hood clearance. For my application with the SP1 it is a tight fit but works with internal hood bracing modification. I have another post a few years ago to show that modification.
