Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has any information about swapping a quick ratio steering gear from a mid 80's Monte Carlo SS into a mid-seventies Buick. I read an article about it from Hemmings and they mention about late sixties and early seventies cars but were a little vague on the later mid-seventies Buicks. Any information is appreciated. Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.

The two biggest issues with the swap are the Rag joint and the fittings for the hoses. The later box has metric hoses with "O" rings and the earlier boxes have flare fittings. The rag joint from a late seventies truck will work, has the smaller input shaft and bolts to the steering shaft.

You will need the conversion fittings they just press down in the ports and a different rag joint, contact Lee Manufacturing if you plan on using the Gbody or jeep box

Rather than assume what model vehicle you have. Year, make & model. An A-Body box is NOT big enough for a full Size car. I do the 808 boxes for the BIG cars. 2.5 turns lock-lock.
