    Hello,

I've been going through every system restoring the hack job a previous owner did. I'm on the windshield wiper/washer portion of this and need some guidance and have some questions. First of all, I only see the windshield wiper motor on my car, no washer pump or wiper fluid reservoir, did some cars not come with the washer pump option? Can someone guide me in the direction of what I need to add and some products they recommend. I suspect this used to have a washer pump because I have loose connections. Refer to the picture below to see my setup.

I can tell you a little bit. All 70-72 Skylarks had washers. There were 2 pumps used, they look very different, one is for hiding wipers and one for non-hiding wipers. Your motor is the non-hiding type. It should have a washer pump which is not there. I can't guarantee it's the right motor for your car. You need a reservoir for fluid, hoses, you need to check your hood edge to see if the nozzles are still there. You need a washer pump or motor/washer combo. Be aware if you buy a used pump. there's a 99.99% chance the washer pump will not work. If you buy one, ask if the pump is working.

Yes i still have the nozzles on the hood. I dont want to risk buying an old one, i want to buy a quality aftermarket washer pump.

I was thinking about buying this one, it has good reviews and opgi has good quality parts. I'm just not sure about fitment... https://www.opgi.com/skylark/CH26136/.

That will not fit your wiper motor. I'll look around to see if i can find something......

The pump for the motor that's on the car looks something like this...

OPGI doesn't even show it for 1970-72, I see one for a 67 Chevelle. That's the problem with OPGI. I think there's like a cam/gear plastic thing, too. I'm not sure if it's part of the washer pump or not. I have not messed with my pump like that for years, so I forget. You need the washer hose kit, you need a reservoir. What year car?

If it's a 71 Skylark, the washer jar probably looked like this. You need the jar, bracket + screws, cap. hose and filter inside the jar. If you post in parts wanted, somebody here can probably hook you up.

I have a 71 washer jug and washer jug bracket if you are interested. I will not be using them. Think I can scrounge up cap and hose from jug to pump also. Jim
