Thanks Tom T and Marc: As I said, a Dynaflow is not that complicated. Now an electronic 4L60-80 is another story. My son built his and says it has 5 clutch packs? and 2 bands, etc. He says you build it one section at a time, you just have more sections.....

    Nice work John!

I may not be holding my throttle all the way down
    Or, it may need adjustment.
I'm wary of full throttle, until I get my radiator squared away.

Check the Buick 'BUY SELL' on AACA/BCA forum.
I think there's a 4 barrel for a '56 over there. It should work on your 4V intake manifold.

I just looked again at that ad on AACA/BCA for the carburetor.
    It's been sold.

OK, Thanks Bulldog. Checking the variable switch linkage travel is a 2 person operation, one to hold on the rug and one underneath to see if it is against the stop on the accumulator. I think there is overtravel protection built into the linkage also.

The 264 with the 4bbl setup from a 322 isn't that much slower then a 322. My theory is that the valve area to displacement ratio is much better on the 264. The heads and valves are the same for both engines, so the 264 actually breathes better.

It is my understanding that the 264 heads were developed for that engine and after testing it solved problems that the 53 322 had and had nearly the same power, so they built the 322 to fit the 264 heads. In 56 the heads were made for the 322.
