Question about parts avalibility

I was wondering if the parts are or plans are to make them avalible to build a serious hp twin turbo BB Buick like they did in a recent issue of High Performance Pontiac? What are the limits for the parts that are avalible and what would end up as the weakest link?

Their buildup consisted of an Indian Adventures block with a 440" displacement with alum heads and twin intercooled PT88 turbo's fueled by a fel-pro.They were able to get 1200hp out of it on pumpgas,1800hp out of it on racegas with 25#'s of boost, and they expect around 2100hp with the boost turned up around 30#'s.

They stuck with mostly off the shelf parts, granted they were top of the line - though I know that it won't be so easy to do this with a Buick I wonder if it is possible,or something similar.I just think it would be sweet to have a Turbo Buick thats of 1970 vintage rather than 1987,though I love the TR's I always try to be different(hence my small assortment of Turbo Buick powered Trans Am's :D )

Sorry for some questions that may be common knowledge to some but this is my first quest into the V8 buick world.

    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

Hi Steve and welcome to the board and world of Buick V8's!

Well, you really chose a juicy topic for for your first post didn't you? I have no idea what the weakest link would be in a Twin Turbo Buick Big Block but I suspect it would be the driver.

Thanks for the welcome,I'm sure I chose a strange topic to enter with but it's something thats been on my mind for a while now.

I wouldn't be planning on looking for that much power but would like to shoot for 1000-1200hp but I'm not sure if it would be possible on pump gas.Though a friend of mine recently got 1150hp and 970lbs.ft. out of a twin turbo 427" small block chevy on pump gas with 17-19#'s of intercooled boost

Unfortunately, the weak link for the Buick 455 is the block itself!:ball: We're not 'blessed' with an aftermarket block (YET), such as the Pontiac block!:Do No: Hopefully, it will happen.:)

Oddly enough, if you want to make serious twin turbo horsepower, you're stuck with the V-6! TA's new aluminum block should be out pretty soon!!
