Question about a part

I have a question. What is this? And do I still need use it?

 

It's a vacuum canister, it holds vacuum in storage for different options like AC, power door locks, power trunk, etc. Whether you need it or not depends on if you still have any of those things installed and working on your car.

 

Thanks for the information. I thought it was related to smog stuff.
