I am buying a 71 GS hood for my 70 SKYLARK...... is there a difference between the 70 and 71 chrome nose piece? If so, how do you tell the difference? Am I able to use the nose piece from my 70 SKYLARK hood?

    Thanks
    Mike

Yes. a 71 hood lip molding is very different than a 70. There's even a difference between a 70 GS hood lip molding and that of a 70 Skylark. But not to get too deep in the weeds here, you can get by putting the 70 Skylark molding on your GS hood. Most probably wouldn't pick up on it. Only the GS nerds will. :p

Thanks for the info. Haven't actually looked at the molding that closely when I've been around GS's and agreed I probably wouldn't have noticed anyway. LOL! Again thanks for your help!

The 71 is half painted. 70 is all chrome. I can’t remember if there are part numbers cast in them?

Aside from the paint on the 71, are they the same design and size?

Use the skylark bar, only a buick gs guy will know it's not a gs bar, and some of them wouldn't
