Looking at buying a 7041540 and wondering what HP range this would support? I want a streetable vehicle. Also, could this work ok temporarily on a stock 455 with 290 Hp? This is all I know so far. Thank you.

Rods are .042 primary and DA secondary. 75 jets, hanger H. Float at 9/32 Upper idle air bleeds .055'lowers .079. upper main air bleeds .068,lowers .055. Idle tube .037. Down channel restriction.055. Idle bypass air .109. Idle screw .085.

This Quadrajet would be set up for 500hp range. Good healthy 455, ported or aluminum heads, and strong cam. It would not do well on a stock 455. It would be too rich at idle and through the entire power band.

    Hope this helps.

This helps a lot Mark. Thank you! I'm thinking it would work fine on a 450ish HP engine? Could I just put some fatter rods in it for a stock motor?

Also, the fuel line inlet work you did on my other carb is working well. Thank much.

    Thanks Matt!.
Yes, it should work well on 450 range. Possibly a bit rich, may need to go down a step in jetting depending on altitude.

Thanks Mark. I just edited my post above. I was wondering if fatter Rods would fix it so I can use on the stock motor till I get the rebuild done?
