Does anyone know of a source for the rubber bushing/grommet that keeps the clutch pushrod in place on the clutch pedal?
Do you mean the rubber grommet in the top of the z-bar, for the rod between it and the pedal? '65-82 Corvette sway bar bushing works, but might need trimming. Visit your local GM dealer, or contact Mike Garrison (Racebuicks).:TU:
Nah I already have one of those. The part I need is just a rubber grommet that is on the clutch pedal itself, and goes between the pedal and the pushrod, not the pushrod and the Z-bar.
I dont believe there is any gromment there. The upper clutch rod goes through the hole in the pedal and get clipped with a hair pin clip.
Mmm I see. Someone must have "modified" the pedals I have then. Mine had an old cracked grommet it, and the hole is much larger than the diameter of the pushrod. Looks like I'm gonna have to get creative :TU:
I never knew Pontiac used a bushing there. You have me thinking if I should go ahead and drill out my pedal to install one. The hole is elongated anyway and squeaks every time I step on it
No grommet there that I know of .... Does it look like it was drilled out and a Hurst shifter bushing installed? Those bushings are avail in metal and plastic.
I got the pedals on Ebay, and the seller specified that they were off of an Oldsmobile. Did Olds use one too? They are going on my Skylark. Not really a huge deal if its not original. I may have gotten it to work, I got a correct sized grommet from the hardware store and used it with a washer to get it to work.
