Hi guys , have you experienced the difference between PUI vs Legendary bucket seat cover ? what could be the better bang for the buck ? I'm looking for my 68 Skylark Custom w/deluxe interior (color buckskin) It's not gonna be a showcar , but a good affordable driver and i'm tired or my dried out original seat cover. thank you
Hi Donald I can only tell you my experience with Legendary covers was great. The guy who did my seats says their the best on the market. He can tell when he has to stretch them he doesn't have to worry about seams letting go like some less expensive covers. I can say my buddy owns a resto shop and sells a lot of PUI covers. I don't think you can go wrong with PUI either. Nothing better than having nice new seat covers! Good Luck Leo
I ordered a set of bucket seat covers and rear seat covers for my 65 Skylark from OPGI. The rear seat cover showed up first and it was from Legendary. A little later the bucket seat covers came in and they were from PUI. Luckily the colors match up pretty good.
I recently received my bucket seat covers and new foam from legendary. The covers look great, can't wait to get them installed.
Thanks for the replies , I bought a complete set from PUI . It won't be for this month but I'll try to add pictures when it will be done :TU:
My experience with PUI and Legendary with recovering my seats in my 64, the biggest issue was that the two have different opinions on the correct grain and colour of the material. I bought all new door panels front and rear from PUI in 64 RED, and then had my front seat recovered completly by Legendary at their shop in the same 64 red. The two red's are different in both shade and grain and can be visibly noticed. Had I would have known the differences, I would recommend going with one company for the entire interior. And if I had a choice between PUI and Legendary, it would be Legendary....hands down for their quality and finish. You will pay a bit more, but it will be well worth the difference in fit, finish and quality.
Got my covers today !!! I ended up buying PUI's I'll take some before/after shot later ... the original's one look very faded compare to these new ones !
Before you put the PUI covers on, set them out in the sun and get them good and hot to make sure they hold the heat pressed tucks (I think yours are heat pressed). I did a set for a 68 GTO convert. First day in the sun all the heat pressed details went smooth. I had to strip them down and do the job over with many hours of lost labor. Now doing new custom covers from TMI, got the covers yesterday and they look great. Did a set from Legendary for a 66 Chevelle and those looked great too.
