The repop A-body door jamb windlace is nothing like the originals. There is no flange on either side. Just the bead, wrapped with vinyl.
You got the wrong stuff there. Some 68-69 GM cars were like you described. But you can definitely get stuff that's similar to original, the flanges aren't quite as wide on the repros. There are other variations. 70-72 windlace https://www.ebay.com/itm/70-71-72-C...ash=item46272dc08c:g:VJUAAOSwRLZUClHZ&vxp=mtr 68-69 windlace https://www.ebay.com/itm/68-69-CHEV...m1c562e974f:m:mb-xveA1TXOLbi-HKNAyIOw&vxp=mtr
I wouldn’t use this in anything. They offered it in red. That is why I got it. I don’t want to dye a pair of originals. I have had any luck finding an original pair of red ones. It’s one of many parts that you don’t know until you get it in your hands. Been there done that. Sometimes I think that’s why the vendors don’t post pictures.
It's going to be really hard to find an original pair in red. Did you check Fusick, Ames, and Legendary?
Brian check with Legendary. They have the most decent stuff . Some items are hand made so if it isn't up to snuff they will replace it. Better with USA made than some guy in China that doesn't even know or care what a GS is.
I get as much Legendary parts as possible. They are making my red 70 GS seat covers and door panels. They don’t have red door jamb windlace though. I just don’t want an interior where everything is dyed. I’m hoping to find some real pieces to give the patina look
