Strange that the pics show the emblems mounted on the door panels....Not the ones you are bidding on.

And the photo is taken from inside of Brad's car :puzzled: or at least shot from the passenger side window...

This is just a guess guys.....Theres a guy here that runs a business out of his house called "Bill's Bird House" . He specializes in Pontiac Firebird parts. He started repoping GS emblems recently. Ive bought a few from him. The quality is nice on the 67 GS emblems I bought. I can only assume from the location and the sellers user ID "missbird2" that it could possibly be him. If it is, these are reproduction emblems. Maybe he just enlarged a grill emblem?? Someone should as him if he's in Commack NY. I think he would soil himself if Brad got in touch with him! :Brow:

Those pictures are definately from Brad's interior. I did those door panels and steering wheel so I would know.

I also know exactly how the prototype door panel emblems were made, so if I saw pictures of the ones for sale I would know if they were correct.

just what's the deal here ?

:puzzled: lets all step back and quietly let Brad win this auction. that is, assuming he is an ebay user. if he isnt, there are a bunch of us who would be glad to " win" it for him if he needs assistance. WTH ? :puzzled:

I have no idea where the seller came up with a photo of my car showing the emblems. I have emailed the seller some pretty pointed questions and hopefully they will answer.

I do not believe they are legit, as the photo shown is of my car. I can tell you the emblems shown are on my car without question.

I would not bid on the item.

Brad, Have you looked to see if they are still in your car lately? Just kidding. Are there pictures posted anywhere of your car? I would love to see some of the one of a kind stuff on the car. Tom

    My question and his reply:

"Just wondering where you came up with these emblems? How do you know they are "prototype" emblems? Where did you find the picture you are using to show this item and do you have permission to use said photo?"

yes we had permission to use the photo from a friend. what is a prototype emblem?

    And my reply back....

You advertised them emblem as being a "prototype" emblem used by GM. I own the GSX Prototype and note that you are using an image of my car in your advertisement. Since there was only one of these cars produced, it's pretty easy to tell the photo is of my car.

I, and many others, would appreciate seeing photo's of the actual emblem you have, both front and back and not a picture of my car with my emblems installed. If what say is correct about the emblems you own, I would be very interested in them.

We'll see where this goes. Thanks for the calls and posts alerting me to this. :TU:

So Brad, how many miles does your prototype have? Do you trailer it to all events, or do you drive it at all?

Has around 85000 miles on her. Before me, it was everybodies daily driver  :error: . Anymore, she just goes on and off the trailer. I have pleanty of other cars I can drive, so it's not too bad.

Thanks for the link to the pics. That front spoiler really stands out. I assume that is one of a kind spoiler? I have a repo spoiler on my 72 and it is not as big and sits back under the car more than the one on yours. My car is white but I left the front spoiler black so that probably hides it some also. After seeing yours I am thinking of painting mine the body color. That rear spoiler looks like it could be a pain to get to all line up. I have to be real honest, its taking a little time for the interior layout/colors to grow on me, at least from the pics, I might love it in real life. Are those exhaust tips one of pieces also or are they borrowed from Oldsmobile? Where did you ever find this car? Was it nice when you found it or did it need alot of work to get it like it is? Sorry for all the questions, I have known you have this car for a long time but just never had a chance to see pics of it to really see how one of a kind it really is. Tom

    Gee Tom

Sounds like you need to get to the BPG show this August. :Brow:

Yes the fr spoiler is a one of a kind, just like many other trim pieces, and didn't take me long to get used to that interior. :TU: :bglasses:
