I have a 69 Skylark with power drum brakes; I'm converting to front disc can I place the proportion vale in the current location of the distribution block or should I place it under the M/C?
    Thanks

Are you buying preformed lines? That may influence your setup. I pieced together a setup(disc brakes were already on car) booster was on sale at Christmas on eBay and I got master cylinder here on the board. Proportioning valve I picked up on another board unopened. Only thing I needed was lines, which I got preformed from inline tube. They let me know that I would need to mount the valve using their bracket. I installed everything today and it all fit together nicely. Some will say I have an F Body setup which is fine by me, I own two.

The early cars used a separate hold off valve and proportioning valve. The hold off valve is the one near the master cylinder. 71 and up cars used a combination valve that mounted on the frame. The combination valve included the hold off and proportioning valves and the brake warning light switch. If you are converting to disc brakes, I would use the later set up.
